When is everyone hitting the track?
Just wondering when everyone's first outting to the track is going to be? I'm heading up to Cedar Falls Raceway April 2nd. Just 38 DAYS BABY!!!
I might go up to tristate on april 16th just because i've never been there, after that its back to the good ol' home track 1/8 mile.

As soon as my tranny is rebuilt. I have it out now and its a race to get done before the season starts.
I'll probably be up at Earlville 1st since it is closer. Hopefully by the Apr. 12 date.....

Christian, when you know the air will be good and you want the fastest slip you can get, Tri-Skate is the place to do it pending you can get traction. I did'nt make it down there last year, but both years before I was always at LEAST .1 faster on normal race days in the summer and picked up .3 when the air was real good.
CFR and Cordova are identical ET wise, but Earlville has the maximum downhill % grade allows by NHRA.
Hopefully they have the traction thing figured out, kind of another reason I was'nt interested in running there last year, when I was running 13.0's and my 60' varied every pass I didn't think I'd have a chance with the new stuff

Thats what I've always heard about tristate. I guess i've got 2 weekends there in the middle of April where I'll wait and see which has the better weather.
I'm gonna run all this 1/4 mile, then come back home to the 1/8, make a pass and be like, "d*mn, its over already?"

LOL, that's exactly what I thought when I came to Eddyville
Just getting ready to start rubber neckin/racin the stripe, but the win lights were on already??
This year will be interesting since we have to do the 1/8 mi. thing for ET Finals we have literally the backhalf of our scheduled points races set-up as 1/8mi. so we can get used to the change.
Did hear an interesting figure at our banquet, they were talking about ET finals in '04 and 37 of our tracks racers made it past first round so they kept trying to push guys to help make a full feild for this year, 2 of our guys made it to the quarter finals. I think the most we've ever had go was 42 racers, year before that we were only 37 on Sunday due to excessive carnage

I guess I haven't hear figures on how many we had last year. I know first round killed a lot of our guys though.
I'd be so pumped if I could make it this year, with stepping up a class and all.
I got to looking at cordova's site, and saw that their super et rules (I assume they'll call it street at finals) didn't have hardly anything listed besides running slower than 11.99 i think. T-brakes, 2 steps, open exhausts, slicks, it all looked legal.
They had a "street" class, but you had to run slower than 13.99, I cant see that being their class to qualify for finals in that area.

Wish all the division 5...well 3 now I guess, would make a universal set of rules so guys could set their car up for which ever class they wanted and run whatever track they wanted...that's be too easy I guess
You'll do fine and will probably set the bar. You did very well in HS and now running with the street class you will have to step upto their level or you will go home.
I felt the very same way last season, 2 years running street always top 3 cuz I never hit EVERY points race, but knew I could compete in Mod. If your competative you will step upto the level your competing at, it just happens. Hang with small fish and you will be small fish and vise versa. Plus you will gain even more knowledge rubbing elbows with the more expereinced guys on a round by round basis, just keep the mouth shut and ears open and watch them trailer up while your going rounds
Last year was fun stepping up, but it was'nt. I like going faster, knowing I had to be on my game, but it took all the fun out of racing since the added cost hurts the pocket book, the must do routine maintenance/check-ups that must be performed before race weekend so you can compete. Street class I found you can win some rounds, actually alot of rounds with .540-.550 lights, anything less than .520 in Mod and .01 off your number and you will be going home. Makes it real fun when your car's unpredictable
Hopefully gonna get that worked out this season.
