campus parking
im transfering to Western Illinois University this fall to complete my bachelor's in law enforcement. I plan on taking my 82 t/a. a parking pass cost a surprisingly low $35/year. i was wondering if there r any experiences of anyone i should be aware of. lol. maybe certain areas of my car i should really work on before i keep it in a parking lot insead of infront of a house? if something happens to it i dont need any methods of retribution. i am more than capable of thinking up ways to make the aggressor's life a living hell! lol

I currently attend WIU. If you're at senior status and commuting from off campus I recommend you get there early Auguest and purchase an "A" sticker which will let you park just south of the faculty parking lot. A lot less drunks and door dings to happen there.
I've never had problems with parking in Q lot. The large parking lot between North Quad, Rec, and Hanson field. But then again I never leave the car overnight there. I will mention I see at least a dozen or more broken mirrors or door ding drive-offs in a semester within the campus newspaper OPS Beat.
As long as you're not sporting a super expensive head unit or subwoofer setup I doubt you would ever see a problem with theft.
Normally Q-lot does see a lot of drunks walking around since a major sidewalk runs next to it connecting the far west dorms.
Nice thing about the parking passes is they let you park for a full year, including summer months too.

Grabbed today paper...
April 19, at 8:32 AM, a student reported a bike rack was stolen from her vehicle parked in Q-lot.
April 21, at 1:06 AM, Alexander Komes, 18, and Kyle Jacobs, 18, both of Crystal Lake (nonstudents), were arrested in Q-lot for possession of drug paraphernalia.... etc etc
Q-lot is a happening place.
