Re: Iowans listen up!

Maybe fuel pump needs replaced??? I live in Ames and I replaced the fuel pump on my 94 twice... I used the access panel though, had to cut the sheet metal above the gas tank. Some people say not too but it is not a structural part so whatever. So idk if it really is the pump but if it is it is a pretty easy fix. When I did mine I went with an aftermarket Walbro like everyone said and it went bad so I bought an ACdelco and it ran better than my Walbro ever did. btw I now have an 89 camaro.

Re: Iowans listen up!

the fuel pump has done this before and then started, so my uncle thinks it might be a wireing issue? but cutting from above sounds better then having to hack away at a new exhaust

Re: Iowans listen up!

Well I don't remember if you have fuel injected or carb, but when I had my 94 the pump would work sometimes and then it would just die on me. I believe pumps can go on and off before they completely stop but not 100% for sure. Anyways if it does run again you should check the fuel pressure while driving and idle. It's prob. easier on the fuel injected since it has to run a much higher pressure and then you can really tell if it is off. On the carb the psi is so low it may not be easily detected. I guess unless you could check the pressure before the regulator?

Try to bang on the tank with a hammer or something.....Its worked for me multiple times....Just a quick fix to get where your going. It might help.
