MN Thirdgens
So... I bought my 88 formula in November just before the snow really started here in MN. We had a snow storm the day after buying it. The it sits in the garage. The garage is not heated and I'm a wuss so I won't go do any work out there until it warms up. Why can't it be summer already...
Okay enough whining, Are there any thirdgen clubs or organizations in Minnesota? I knew of MNFbody but they are gone.
Thanks!

Re: MN Thirdgens
I've only joined this forum and one about two years back for Formula owners. My car is a PA sourced vehicle and former theft recovery. Details are sadly lacking I bought from an older female owner, She had taken good care of it, I on the other hand, drove my Bird like any other car, everywhere! I can't store mine in a garage and drive something else, though I did for a time, those two cars I had tried to use as "beaters" were in better shape except for other issues, mainly again, mechanical and I lacked the budget for that, as well, bodywork Restoration of the Firebird. For several years I've been offering my car for sale, I have renewed interest at present, via Craigslist here in MPLS / St Paul.... I notice another convertible is on that website for sale, offered with 24,000 miles or so for $8000. I paid $8600 and mine had higher mileage. What I would suggest is a white donor car I also see on there, offering for $1000, and buy mine for $2000, and do a transformation of good parts, I'd say the convertible ASC parts moved to a car with better underpinnings. I'm sure there are some Hot Rodders who can and do do this type of transformation, I've been reading Car Craft, Custom Rodder and Hot Rod magazines for years, I've seen countless average cars go under the knife.
You know there are few amazing F car examples, the Turbo Pace car and Firehawk, including VERY rare convertibles of those cars that exist. This one is a Tuned Port 350 and people tell me the engine is worth it!
Anyway, I never joined a club, but I live in the West Metro and since I lost my job I need a car better suited to winter, as it stands, I carry a shovel in the car with me and have not gotten stuck this winter, of course, I avoided any travel when snow was hammering the State!

There is a new F-body forum for the MN region. www.mn-fbody.com. It's brand new so there isn't much there yet. I'm trying to get it growing. I am a member of the MNGMP forum as well. Come help a new MN F-body group grow. (yeah I know shameless plug...)

Re: MN Thirdgens
Any of u MN 3rd gen guys looking for a project car? We have a black 3rd gen Camaro convertible that is going up for auction this Thursday at the St Paul Police Impound Lot. The car has a TPI V8 think it's a 350 not 100% sure it was dark when I tried to look at the car. the interior would need to be gutted as it's been sitting with the top open. I don't know a ton about Camaro's to know if they even offered a stock convertible option back then. pretty sure the car has been repainted as it doesn't have the side door moldings. I would think this car would go cheap as the last 99 Trans Am only went for 1800 bucks. As I stated it was really dark when I looked at but from what I could tell the body was in ok shape, not saying this car is mint but I know many people like the covertible Camaros.
