Well, it's been a fun year (almost)

I am sad to report that Roxie; my 89 Camaro RS, may not make it a month to her 1 yr birthday with me.

She was accosted (but not brutally) by a Milwaukee County Transit System bus while I was going to park and catch the bus with my GF; the bus driver cut a left corner very short and sideswiped her. Luckily I saw it coming and was able to pull over and stop which probably helped keep the damage reduced and eliminated injuries.

I thought it was purely cosmetic, crinkling the fender-door-quarter and clipping the nose and spoiler; alas I was mistake, the bus also caught the driver front tire and now my 89 is seriously pigeon-toed. I squeal my tires louder at 10 MPH going straight than most do taking a round-a-bout at 50.

Unfortunately I did not have collision coverage, so my insurance company is not helping out. The county basically has said they will cover it as long as it is reasonable. Lawyers wont touch because there was no injuries. So I have to foot the time & trouble to get estimates and appraisals.

Pictures to follow.

Re: Well, it's been a fun year (almost)

I am sorry that I have been unable to post pictures as of this time, it was deemed to be in the best interest until after insurance was dealt with.

That said, the settlement will be done this afternoon and then it's fair game. I will be retaining the car so if anyone should want it or parts thereof arrangements can be made.

Damaged is the sheetmetal front to back driver side, and the hood is a little boogered up as well, along with the driver side chunk of the spoiler. Local Chevy damage estimate was 4600.
The only extra pieces I have is a set of Z28 taillamps and the Bosch headlamps.

While I do miss the car I have reservations about getting another as it will need to be a daily driver all year round at this time. Possibly getting a Grand Prix Coupe as a replacement.

Boo - terrible to hear. If you're not able to keep driving the car, at least she'll live on keeping other third-gens on the road. Good luck!

I am sorry to say I have neither the time nor money to invest into it. Except for the crinkles in the driver side sheet metal, it is all straight and glass is all intact. I will be parting it out or selling whole for parts; just need to get my hosting accounts back up online to post the pix

I wish I had time to get her back into decent shape, but I have to let her go.
