New to the forums, looking for my first camaro
Hey guys new to the forums here! I've been looking for a camaro for several years now but only have been seriously looking for the past few months. I finally settled on wanting a third gen z28. Well i found one
. I was hoping you guys could answer a few questions for me though. Its an 83 z28 all original with 107K miles. 305 carbureted. No rust, paint has been touched up somewhat so it looks really good cosmetic wise, interior is fairly good as well. Guy says it runs and drives great. He's looking for 2500 obo. The only issue i have with it is that its a 305 and not a 350, but is it real hard to swap in a 350 if i would want to afterwards?

This carbed car would be easier to work on and make a 350 swap down the road not having all the electronics and crap the FI cars have. Sound like a great deal.

Yeah that's pretty much what I had thought. But i m pretty much a green horn when it comes to something as major as putting a different engine in a car so I figured I better look somewhere for advice! I've heard the 305s in those cars were know to have some issues with the bearings? Is that pretty common? Also how expensive is it to swap in a 350?

I have to agree with Ace on this. What a 305 lacks in the power dept it is second to none in reliability and longetivity as long as its not abused too bad. Id run it and be either building a 350 a lil at a time or saving to buy a crate engine for later if a 350 is your end goal in the car. Good luck with it sounds like you got a great deal.
