Going to buy a 88' Trans Am shell

Anybody know which engines I can put in this 88' T/A? Also need a tranny.

That's a rather broad question....

Looking for stock engine configurations, anything that works, building on a budget or just going all out?

Just about anything can be made to work, depends on how much effort you're putting into it.. money.. etc

Anything from an "Iron Duke" I4 to a Big Block 454. Tranny depends on the engine chosen.

I was thinking about a LS engine. I'm not sure. I just want a relatively simple option. But I want some power to play with. I also wanna stay around or under 2k on the engine itself.

Find a donor car with a LS1 / T56 combo and that'd be a good start.
