Hey guys,

I'm just interested really to learn more about where my car was originally sold. It's now in England and I'm kinda fascinated by picturing how my car started life!

Here (attached) is the original bill of sale. Brian Mann seems to be the first owner (I'd love to get hold of him if I can / and if he's interested to know where his old car is )

The car was delivered to 'The Hanley Dawson Downtown Auto Mall' 150 West Ontario Street, 60610

Anyone know this place, does it still exist?

Anything- even anicdotal stories welcome. Also what would a 1988 license plate look like? I'd like to get some made up.

Umm...lol, perhaps a more scandalous origin than you may have imagined. Check fraud in '88 by the dealer franchise owner? Same dealer, you think?

If you know what city he is from you may be able to see if he is on Facebook and contact him through there. I've done it before and was able to talk to previous owners

Can anyone show me what a 1988 licence plate looked like for Chicago?

 

You'd think maybe they moved but I found the original owners of a 1986 Firebird S/E I parted out. Still lived in the same town, pretty neat. Heres a Illinois plate

Yep that should be the plate for that era. I found a Brian Mann on facebook in Aurora, IL which isn't far off from Chicago. Might be the original owner, never hurts to send a message and ask!

No problem! I think that may be the only way to message him. It seems like if you try to message someone you aren't friends with it just goes to their "other" messages folder and doesn't notify them. Hopefully you can get in contact with him! I'd love to know if its him

 

He isn't accepting my request. It would be good if you could send the request with a title/ header.. I think he looks like the guy. Dunno why Just does.

 

A couple years ago I think you could send a message with your request but I'm not sure why'd they stop doing that. But we will have to wait and see, I'm willing to bet thats the guy also. Just looking through some of his interests shows he is a car guy. Hopefully it works out!
