New Member from Batavia, a western Chicago suburb
Hello all. I'm an old guy trying to figure out the forum and where I can start posting. I have been on here a few days reading trying to figure it out where to start. Alot of the Forums I've been a member on in over the years had a new member posting area to introduce yourself and give a little background about you and your vehicle. I wasn't sure if it's better to post in the main forum or your local region, or do most people just jump into specific tech areas and ask whatever questions they have? If someone can give me a little background on how to start and where to navigate in this forum, I'd appreciate it.

Welcome aboard! I'm a bit south of you in Morris. You can get started however you want really, there are no hard rules that I know of. Usually I see local events and planning posted in this area but this seems to fit too.
There is section in detailing where a lot of people post pics or you can just do it here, I don't see a problem with that!

Welcome abroad 88IroxRRS.
The links PaulyC has posted above are great places to put a thread about YOUR car and what you are doing to it. As people start to follow what you are doing, if you have questions, you can certainly ask them there. But not everyone will see those questions.
So if you have a question on a specific topic, like Brake or Body, there are sub-forums just for those topics that will get more traffic, and get you an answer sooner, perhaps.

I'm guessing since these are older cars with diminishing numbers, there aren't a lot of people looking at this forum regularly especially those that have been members a long time. I just need to look around a lot more to find some of my answers which is ok, just takes time. The Sticky notes have been very useful for things asked frequently. I don't remember if I signed up as a member back in 1999-2000, but I have threads from back then that I printed out when I was first researching my car. Now I'm relearning all of the things I forgot in the last 24+ years of owning the car.

Members come and go, as people buy and sell cars. While forums are less busy everywhere, this one is still pretty active. Read through some of your other thread. I hope you enjoy getting the car back on the road, enjoy it, and find it a good home.
