Turbo TA Question
Turbo TA Question
Just wondering, since the TTA had a hp rating of 250, and 3rd gen GTA models had a hp rating in the range of 210, would that make insurance higher on the TTA as opposed to a GTA?

I don't think insurance look at "horsepower ratings" as much as they do the car model. For instance, I believe that you will pay more for an IROC-Z with the LG4 than a base model sport coupe with the SAME motor. That's an I think.
Truthfully buddy, It doesn't matter, your young, its rear wheel drive and a sports car, your gonna get raped with insurance. The words "Trans Am" are going to give you an asspounding. I remember I was looking at insurance on an IROC when I was 16/17 and it was about 900 bucks every six months just for liability.
Your best bet is to somehow try to get it titled under your parents. I know my truck is about 100 bucks a month, insured year round, and the Camaro is about 30 a month under my dads name, and is only insured in the warm months.

yeah, technically speaking it IS a gta since the chassis & everything is the same, but just for discussion's sake we'll say it's not, since it's not "officially" classified as one...

I pay $272 a year for liability / uninsured motorist for mine as they have it listed as a Pontiac Firebird. They have the correct vin. and when they asked is what engine is in it, is said "a V6".
