I have owned this computer for the last 2 years and it was bought from an acquaintance of mine who added the XP OS to it. I do not have the discs for the XP but have done many updates including the Service Pack 2 updates and it is a valid version so future updates will be just fine. There is 1 cosmetic issue with this laptop, nothing to be worried about at all but I figured I will disclose it as I am an honest individual with morals. Where the top latches to the bottom, it is cracked. It stays closed and fully latches however it just is loose. Otherwise, some scratches and the like are visible but nothing major at all. This computer was put in service (shipped out) on 5/10/1999. Using it and looking at it, you can hardly tell that is was born that long ago. This computer is fast (thanks to the 256Mb upgrade I did) and reliable. It has been docked and in my home for the past year, hardly ever used as I have a regular desktop and always kept clean. The screen went out about 7 months ago and so rather than just replacing the inverter (power supply for the LCD), I replaced the cable that connects the LCD to the motherboard too! This way, all is new and there is no room for error. Better to be safe than sorry. Otherwise, I love this laptop. It has served me very well but now must sell due to lack of employment.
