Best way to upload video from DVD?

I have a dyno video that I captured on my Sony Digital Handycam. I transfered this video to my DVD burner and made a DVD of the Dyno. Now I want to upload clips of the video to one of the many video sites. Streetfire,putfile,Youtube etc.. For some reason my windows movie maker is not detecting the DVD. So what is the best way to edit and upload my new DVD to a site?
