Right here in little ole' carlisle, all of two miles from the fairgrounds...

I need everyones help in finding another car though, I don't want to drive my baby in the winter! I'm looking for a cheap old chevy or pontiac (Nova, camaro, chevelle, or the equivalent) Its got to pass inspection and have a healthy motor, I don't care if its a six banger, if the interior is thrashed, or if the body is ugly as long as it passes...

All help is much appreciated!

burntblues I'm from carlisle too, well carlisle springs actually. What's your car look like? Maybe I've seen it around. I have a white 90 Formula.

 

Brett, I've got an 89 RS, its red with Massachusetts plates. The drivers side rear window still has shoe polish on it from the last time I was out drag racing. I'm over in the College Park apartments, so if your not busy sometime stop by for a beer.

I'm going to head out to the show on thursday and get myself a birthday present hopefully (my b-day is Friday). I was told though that the cars that you can buy there, if they're cheap, are usually all beat to he11 and won't pass inspection. I found a four door malibu that I might pickup, I've got to call my friend that restores them though and find out what I really need to look at on them. I know the car will pass inspection and the motor is still pretty strong. Also, I've got to go to the show and find some parts for my buddy's 69 cougar while I'm there, so now I just have two reasons to go.

If ya'll want to head out drop me a line when your going and we'll get together when we get there...

im going im not sure if its going to be friday or saturday. i work until 330 on friday so i think i will just go on saturday so i can look around. i went to the summer event it was right after i wrecked my iroc. i was looking for another thrid gen camaro there i only seen one and they wanted 2400 or something and i was the biggest terd i have ever seen. i looked at the price like 5 times. i wanted to make sure it wasnt just 24.00. that how big of a terd it was.

 

I wish I could stop in for beer. Maybe in 3 years when I'm of legal age. lol. Did you just move here that you still have mass. plates? I'll probably be heading into the show all day saturday. Maybe friday for a little when I get home from school.

 

Thats exactly what I'm thinking, the people at these shows seem to think that when you go to a car show that all of a sudden you get stupid. It just doesn't really make sense, I mean if your at a car show you probably know more about the cars then the average guy who would be flipping through the paper. If you think they rape you for a third gen, I'm gonna hate to see what a 60's car is gonna cost me. I guess the show opens on Thursday, so I think I might try to check it out then.

Brett, I just moved down from Mass. in August, I go to the law school.

You guys should drop me an email when ya head out, I'll probably be there all weekend, especially if I can find a car that I'm interested in...

my step brother bought a 72 scamp of a guy for 1000 not rust on the car at all it was primmed grey and they switched to the disc brakes he didnt want it anymore and he must have seen it before anyone. go for a ride on some old back roads i always see cars on backroads for sale

 

ill be at the carlisle show also. if you see a skinny white kid who looks out of place its probably me.

 

everytime i go there i see like 20 skinny white kids out of place

So what did everyone think of Carlisle? I was definitely surprised at the number of GTA's there in the corral. Also the white 89 vert TA with 68k miles outside of gate 2 for 5500 or something. Too bad I'm 18, in college, and paying insurance on 2 cars. BurntBlues, there is going to be a small show up at Rufe Chevrolet in 2 weeks (The 20th I believe). I went up last year and its mostly vettes but there were a couple thirdgens and some older stuff there. Not sure if you'd be interested but I just thought I'd let ya know. I think I'll be taking the formula in and my dad will have his 92 Vette there.
