I was wondering where people in or around central Jersey have gotten their windows tinted. I am starting to look for a place to go that does good work, decent price. If anyone has any good places let me know, thanx

Yo take it from me not one but TWO 44 dollar tickets in the last year, cause of window tint. Cops in NJ are a$$holes!!! But then again I have 5% all the way around.(LIMO, lets 5% of light through) ,and ive only driven my car like 1500 hundred miles in the past year!!! So its just a reson for them to pull you over COPSUCKERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

5% is a lot, cops around here will definitely nab you if you have that much on the two door windows. put it on the hatch window, and you'll be fine. cops will look the other way if you have 35% tint on your windows (still illegal). it's dark enough to know you have tint and light enough to keep 5-0 happy. Personally, I wouldn't go 5% on the windows anyway, it's really really dark. You'll have problems seeing at night.

There's a good place in Englewood right off of Rt4 that does tint. And another place not far from there in Ridgefield.... I always see a 4th gen SS and an older 68 or 69 Camaro there. Sorry I don't have names... maybe someone else here knows what I'm talking about.

 

i will ONLY run 5% full tints all around on all my cars, i dont care about the cops much, i rarely get pulled for it, like 3 times a year. i figure any tint is illegal on the side windows so does it really matter 35% or 5%? hehe, but i know an awesome place for tints but its in northern NJ, in North Haledon.

and for 35% how dark is it, in relation to getting noticed... i mean i know it will get noticed but ya know... i don't know how to explain.

 

Go with one step up from 5% (10% ? or maybe 20%, i can't recall)... it looks almost the same during the day, and you'll be able to see out your back window MUCH better than the 5% at night. 35% is good for the roll-up windows, and looks plenty dark from the outside on a black car, especially if the interior is black as well.

they do not care about laws
they charged me 140 to do the sides and the rear hatch
they give a 30 day warentee with it too just in cause u **** it up
u can get it fixed for free with in 30days

5% is hella dark, grab some tint samples and look for yourself, 20-35% should be good enough for you

 

so in jersey what is legal... driver side and passenger side front doors cant have anything, correct? and the back windows can have anything?

 

back windows or hatch can have whatever but driver and passenger sides cant have anything but who really cares. get the sides done and be happy

 

I have a card my friend gave me the place is in Northern NJ. I gotta find the card i forget where it is. its either 89 or 99 to get ur windows tinted and it comes with a lifetime warranty. i'll post the info later when i find the card.

If you live around keyport theres a place called ultimate sound and security, i got mine done there came out really good and theres a place in middletown called auto works, seen stuff done from there and they looked pretty good, but my freind just got his doors done there and it looks good from far away but up close theres a million bubbles. I have my sides done 25% and ive been stopped a bunch of times so....

 

one of my friends just got his windows tinted on his car (will leave the car unknown, lol), he got 20% all around, and supposedly its some type of mirror black tint, where it shows a reflection, i just said it as regular 20% and that they just said it, but who knows. He got it done some place in perth amboy and they did a pretty good job... just dont know about drivin into perth amboy

Hey guys I know it is sweet ot be able to just pay to get your windows done but for a quarter of the price you can do it yourself close to twenty or thirty times. If you have the time of course. You are bound to get it right eventually lol It isn't that hard if any of you have put on decals before you pretty much already know how to do it. By the way 5% is really dark but it must look pretty sweet. I know I am doing 20% soon probably.

its not gonna look bad at all as long as its done right. Most people in NJ only tint their back windows anyway and it looks fine. 20% is a nice darkness too

 

Auto works did my 4th gen and it looks good I went 5% in the back and 20% on the sides. I haven't been harassed yet by the police. Anything on the windows from the driver forward is ILLEGAL. The windows behind the driver can be as dark as you want them to be.

Detailed sounds in essex fells/caldwell will do them, i got quoted i think 65 bucks but i have a vert so that was just for the side two windows. And most cops aren't a$$holes until you do something to **** them off, and plus it helps to be on the local first aid squad and know all the cops in the surrounding area hehehe

 

my friend that got his tints done at some place on route on asked about them doing only my back window and they said $98.... sounds like a rip to me...

 

it's not bad at all. I can still see out the back window through the rear view, and since the sides are 20% and the cops can see you through it at night they have never busted my chops about it yet. If you wanna meet up one night to see the car you can decide for yourself if you want to go darker, but I think that is the perfect combo. Esp. if you have a dark interior.

 

yea my interior is black and well since u said 20% on the sides u dont get busted on by the cops i think i might just get the 20% done and maybe 15% on the back, ya know just that extra 5% difference

i just hope after gettin them done with the scratches on my windows it doesnt look like crap with the scratches.

also do u know what kinda tint the shop u went to used? becuz i dont want that purplering effect to happen after awhile.

 

I believe autoworks uses something called solarguard, but I'm not 100% positive. Either way it is 100% guaranteed if it fades, rips, peels off they have to replace it for free.

I lied they are located in Belford NJ the number is 732-495-0330 the whole car was $155 dollars. i just looked for the bill.
