Well i got there a little b'fore noon, did a quick walk through the pits, walked to the far end of the track, watched a few runs.....
laughed my *** off at this dragster that well...didnt seem to get out of first gear or something......maintained a pretty much steady speed the whole way, turned like a 15.5 at 120MPH or so, AND FELT IT NECISARY TO DEPLOY HIS PARACHUTES! the whole crowd around us was roaring with laughter...Saw a few thirdgens run, tried my best to get good pics, but as the digital camera has maybe like 3/4's a second pause between the time you push the button and the picture is actually taken, it was rather hard to get any clear pics when the cars were actually close to you, but i was able to get a few :-)
Spent the next...half hour or so in line for a snack, walked over to the middle bleachers, sat behind a nice guy who was there racing his 96 Z28 1LE, had a nice long talk with him...great guy, John :-)
saw a few races, then right as a yellow 'Vette and i forget what the other car was were completing their burnouts, they paused, about half an hour goes by while they try and dry the track, then they finally just call it off....Oh well, had a good time i guess....second time in a row that i've gone and its been rained out, (Funny Cars Under the Stars was rained out as well), so i've got a few rainchecks for next year i guess...
Also, if anyone knows anything about the black/red flamed camaro, PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHERE I CAN CONTACT THE OWNER!
I absoloutly love the car......i dunno what attracted me so much to it, but like......i dunno, the flat black with the red flames looked amazing IMO...very simple but i just liked it alot :-)
