Hello everyone,

After a couple of years of collecting dust in the garage, it's time for my 86 TA to live again! However, I need a bunch of stuff to get her running properly again.

Are there any pick and pull type salvage\junk yards fairly close to Albany, NY that anyone knows of?

There's one in Auburn NY (Exit 40 off the thruway) that I used to go to when I was in college. There may be something closer, but none that I'm aware of.

 

Ha - that's the only one I could find somewhat close to me. I'm going to take the 2 1/2 hour drive there this weekend. The only thing is, I called them up, and they told me they "think" there are some firebirds there, but don't keep an inventory on anything older than 10 years...

there is one about an hour and a half from Albany called Vince's u pull it. they even have a website. ive been there a thousand times they got lost of third gens. and there is one in Utica just off of the arterial thats got a lot of birds and camaros and they are both pretty cheap.

 

hey man, im parting out an 82 camaro with a 350 small block with work done to it. all kinds of stuff and im not far from albany. what are you looking for?

 

theres one in bingimton, and then theres dutchers in morrisville, they are ******, but they have nice quality cars. I found 02 camaro leather seats in there for 200 bucks.

 

Thanks for the replies, I went to the one in Auburn, and if anyone is considering on going - don't bother. They had four firebirds and two camaros there, almost all stripped to the frame. I got lucky - the last one I found was an 87 TransAm and I was able to get most of the parts I needed from that.

Still looking for a radio pod, and of course hood and hatch struts. Once I get a couple of bucks saved up I'll be getting a rebuild kit for my power hatch.

Now I just need some tires to get her back on the road...
