Re: lookin for a project car

when you say "not in my price range" are you just talking about what people write in their ads? because its been my experience that most people greatly overvalue their third gens when selling. They always sell them to me much less whne i have cash in my hand. even more so when your talking about a car that doesnt run and i pull up with a trailer and cash.
"I dont know, i dont see anyone else lined up here with a trailer and cash...."
my 1986 TA was orig listed for $2000, i got it for $900 and it ran.

yea i know there is always room to play when you show up wit cash but i also dont want to have to drive much over 3 hours and every car around here seems to have alot of rust. I can do motor work but body work i cant to.

Re: lookin for a project car

just part of the deal when you are looking for used cars in NE. I just got a new plow truck. I called about 30 ads, only about half even called me back. after talking to them, another 10 were eliminated as being very different from the ad. 3 of the 5 i actually looked at were way rustyer than indicated, but i finally came up ith a winner. almost no rust 95 GMC k2500 w/ plow, $5000.
lot of effort, but it was worth it. This truck at a dealer would easily be $9000.
If you see any in my area, Im always interested in f-body shopping, I'd be happy to look at it and take pics for you. Im in northern VT, but I'm often in the north boston area too.
Good luck!!

Re: lookin for a project car

I'm out here in northern MA and I just hunted craigslist for a while. It took a few months of watching, but I was able to find a rust-free (but non-running) TA for $600. However, new england is not kind when it comes to rust, so it may take some time to find what you're looking for
