Hello everyone! I have a spectacular opportunity for all of the IROC-Z owners in the North East Region, and beyond if you are willing to travel. Next year Carlisle GM Nationals 2015, in Carlisle PA, will be celebrating the 30th anniversary of the IROC-Z!!! They need IROCs from 1985-1990 to be featured in the showcase. Anything from bone stock, modified, full race, street or track, they want them all. The must be an original IROC-Z, no clones. If you are interested in being a part of the showcase next year, shoot me a PM on here and I will get you the email address for the GM Nationals Event Director. I have been in touch with him all week and I have already filled out my application for the showcase. If you are chosen, the car will need to be in the showcase on Thursday and must remain till the end of the show on Sunday. I am very much looking forward to being a part of a once in a lifetime showcase for the IROC-Z Camaro! I hope all you IROC owners in the north east, and beyond, are as well. Seriously? No one is interested in this? It's gonna be a ton of fun next year and our IROCs will be the focal point. Come on IROC owners!

That sounds very cool! My car probably will still be without motor, but this may be worth a road trip just to head over and check it out.

Thanks Lurbie! Yeah this will be a fantastic weekend for IROC-Z owners! Thanks for posting the links. The bottom link also has a link for the application. Although they won't be making a definitive decision till March or April 2015 as to who will be in the display, Tyler the event manager has asked me to recruit here on TGO! Please at least take the time to fill out the application. I already have! Hope to see more of you there. It would be cool to have an all IROC, all TGO display!

 

I would love to be in it, but I don't think mine is really show quality, plus it's a pretty far drive and I don't have a trailer. I will definitely be going to see the cars though.

 

Show quality or not, it's about the IROCs! Even if you don't put the car in or apply, definitely come to see the cars! It will be such a great weekend!

I am interested. However, is this event going to be the same weekend as the Camaro Nationals event in Maryland? It was last year and I decided to go to the nationals in maryland .. and I had a blast. Now, I'll have to see the details for each, and then decide.... but the showcase really does sound cool.

 

As it is most years, the Camaro Nationals in MD is the same weekend as GM Nationals in Carlisle. I'm pretty sure they do that out of spite as the Camaro Nats used to be held at Carlisle. That had some sort of falling out that I don't know the full details of. Regardless, GM Nats has for sure announced this 30th anniversary showcase for the IROCs. Definitely worth it for the once in a lifetime opportunity to showcase our cars. I'm not sure who has all submitted an application to be in the showcase, I know I for sure did. I'm just hoping that my IROC gets picked. Hope to see you there!

 

my car isnt show quality but im gonna make a serious effort to get out there this year. its been years since i have walked the holy grounds of carlisle for any event.

Yup, filled out my application and sent it in online about 15 mins ago. It said my application # was 4011. Not sure if that means 4011 people submitted their cars for this event (unlikely) or if its the automated # in their system. hey, its worth a shot.. if not i'll just put the car in the regular show field and enjoy the weekend

i got THE EMAIL. my car was picked. Totally an awesome opportunity. Now I just have to figure out the logistics of taking a 2nd car to get around in for the weekend, extra nights at the hotel, etc. I am excited beyond belief.

 

Same here!!! I can't wait for June to get here!!!!! Not really a problem for me to get the car there since I live 30 mins from Carlisle. I can't wait to see how the display turns out. There's going to be a 80's theme band there too on Saturday as well as a KITT replica. I also got word that Jerry Palmer will be there all weekend for seminars. He was the lead designer for the third gen Camaro! It can't get here fast enough!
