89 Camaro RS bought in Webster NY

Trying to find anyone who knows anything about this car. I bought it from an older polish gentlemen. Apparently it was his sons car who moved south for work. He said it ran great before his kid worked on it. He thought his son tried to put a cam in it and it never ran after that. I pulled the valve covers and the rockers appear to be adjusted right. I pulled the plugs and tried to roll it over by hand but no go. I'm currently charging the battery so I can try and bump it over. From the looks of it the kids work is pretty shotty, mismatch plug wires, loose bolts, lots of zip ties. It might be easier at this point to just swap the motor out. This is my third third gen, I had a 91RS an 86 Z28 and now this 89RS. I'm also currently building a 79 Z28 Resto Mod with a truck 5.3 and 4l60e. An LS swap is the eventually the plan for this car plus some handling mods, might even wind up becoming a race car. The best part......I got it for $800 and its solid. Guy just wanted it out of his yard. The C5 wheels even have good tires on them.

Kinda of off topic to you main post...

The 79 looks very nice. Although, the chin spoiler looks out of place. Perhaps a little to big, or the angles are too sharp. I cant figure it out.
Maybe it will look different after paint.

Got the car painted. actually used rustoleum and it didn't come out to bad. It did take along time to dry, but for a race car I'm not to worried about it.

So after the year of sitting did you get it running?

That pain job looks awesome, I am surprised I have not seen it around being how I am just down in Henrietta.

I did get it running but its wounded. I think it has a bent valve from the rockers being over tightened and the kid b4 me trying to start it. I'm going to rebuild a 350 out of my monte ss for it since that car is getting a 5.3 . This car is not on the road yet and will be primarily a race car with limited street time. I really just have to many projects, this car is going in storage in a couple weeks so I can finish the 79 z28 and then do the ls swap in the monte and then back to the race car. Not enough time or money in the day

So I've decided I'm probably gonna run with NASA instead of Asedan just based on cost. Otherwise it will be a street/autocross car. Currently it looks like this.
