Re: Ohio?

ive went down to columbus a few times to look at f-bodys for sale most are complete junk for the prices there asking
last time i went down to look at an 88 iroc for 800 bucks told use over the phone car was 100% just needed a intake gasket we get down there the car turns out to be a black hard top 350 car with no ac and 4wheel disc but the engines got a crack the size of the san andreas fault down the valley and the floor is almost completely gone the 1/4s where rusted through needless to say i think its the last time im heading down that way for a car

awesome yah i paid 3,500 for mine it's a little less of a gem than i originally thought but, i still think i did ok. two small holes in the driver floor board and rusty windsheild frame from ****ed up t-top leakage........ has a new engine and tranny and clutch tho. Runs pretty good.

yah i'll be patching up my stuff and por-15ing the bottom of her once i can get some warm weather.

new grey interior to swap in, fix t-top leak, put it on a frame rack and tweek it back in to shape and then to paint for the messed up windsheild frame and fender... Should be good to go. new 2032 camshaft and ported 416s and ported intake to throw on her 2. I just want to hit 13z bad.

I am looking to hit that or quicker.......My brother-in-law has a friend who has a body shop and might have the machine needed to fix your frame....

I found that the owner I got this from went wire cutting crazy, so I managed to get it fired up last night at 1am.

I had a great time last year for my first time and i'm planning on it this year, but in no hurry for it to get here. I DO NOT want to rush away spring/summer with the hellish winter we've had.

Although it was only 42* yesterday, I had to wash mine up because of the foggy mess I drove through the day before.

Re: Ohio?

some of you guys have some really nice cars and all but ohio isnt in the north east...i dont mean to be rude and maybe im missing somethign but???

from wikipedia:
The Northeastern United States is a region of the United States.[1][2] As defined by the U.S. Census Bureau, it covers nine states: Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. Delaware and Maryland are sometimes part of the Northeast census group because of their inclusion in the BosWash megalopolis but the Census Bureau includes them in the South Atlantic region.[3]

Re: Ohio?

yea you are correct but the forum for midwest never tends to deal with anything past IL
maybe had you posted this back 14 pages ago someone would have noticed and even cared

i think most people are from north east ohio sorry to all that are not but thats most likely what they assumed when posting an ohio thread in the north east section

This thread has been here since 2002. I think if there was an issue it would have been moved within the last 6 years. The "midwest" section appears to not include Ohio, so that is why it is probably here. They could do a better job of the state break downs I will admit. Looks like you're a newb here so welcome.

Agreed with the wrong catagory, but if wasnt specified which states they considered in that catagory, but they did in others.

Re: Ohio?

Looking forward to taking my 'bird out of the garage this spring, summer and fall. I checked it out and my battery is dead. Tried to jump it and nothing?

Hmm. I'm not too mechanically inclined. Anyone interested in helping a brother out? I need diagnosis. Pretty sure I have a short in the electrical system. Best to take it to a dealer or does someone know a better alternative?

Thanks, it's a pretty kickass site. You go to the bowling alley on Fishcreek? I live like three minutes from there. As soon as I get the camaro up and running, we'll cruise around or something(knock on wood).

Welp, to make a LOOOONG story short, my car pooped out on me, one time too many, and my 2nd parents (that's part of the long story) offered me their 92 RS, if I could get it up and running.. The catch is it's been sitting for 4-5 years, exposed to the elements, so there's a big issue with the clearcoat peeling off, and some rust(untill I work some magic on that, hehe..), and some sort of rodent got at the wires on the passenger side... Plus, there's still the issue that caused it to stop running in the first place, whatever that may be. Not to mention what happens to a car that's been sitting for that long.

So far, I think I've repaired the wire damage, so now I have to find out why it won't start. But the battery is dead, so I have to charge it ( too poor at the moment to get a new one) before I can tell if the clicking noise is just the battery, or the starter. I really hope it's the battery.

That was the shortened version, I skipped all the fun stuff, like how I spent 7 hours on it today, in the rain, and the battery died before I could get the trunk lid to close. But I did get 6 out of 8 wires replaced. And I have to say, I give much respect to anyone who can change the plugs and wires on a 305, I still haven't figured out how to do the two on the drivers side closest to the firewall.

So now I'm trying to get rid of my Accord and use what little money I get from that to fix the Camaro.

sounds like what my iroc was doing. does it have problems starting after it quits running? if you havent already change your fuel filter its like $3 and it probably hasnt been changed. then make sure your getting spark after it shuts off i checked before i started mine and i had spark after it ran and stopped no more spark. it was the ignition module in my case.

it does if you try to start it right after it dies....you have to shut it all the way off...and then restart it

I work 2nd shift but i can see if i can help maybe next weekend.

Id check fuel pressure, vacuum and map sensor. Try starting the car with gas petal all the way pressed down and see if it will stay running. On my friends tpi 305 it wouldnt stay running because of bad map sensor

Re: Ohio?

I live in lake county...Euclid to be exact and if anybody has been to Thompson dragway they have the wheelie event May 24th I beleive. Would be a great oppurtunity to meet up. Lets not forget about PINKS coming to summit raceway(AKA norwalk) in the summer.

Im thinking on getting stickers made that say

"I RACE AT Summit Motorsports Park NORWALK"

Imagine the underline being a strikethrough

I hate when people change names of a place so widely known.
