Jprevost, I agree, Columbus sucks. Too big, and no action! Up where I live, in the Youngstown area, we have a road course , a 1/4 mile drag strip, and summit racing all within an hour of where I live. Otherwise, there's nothing out here (I live in BFE)

I'm originally from Shelby. I moved after first grade (1989) and haven't been back much since. I still have family in Mansfield and Bellville.
Third gens are popular down there? My stepbrother lives outside of Shelby, and he is a hardcore 2nd gen camaro guy.

I'm in Euclid, about 10 minutes from downtown Cleveland.
I've wanted a 3rd generation Camaro since they came out 20 years ago, and bought mine just yesterday. Going to have trouble sleeping tonight as I'm picking it up tomorrow!

Good to hear Dave...maybe we'll get together at Eastlake or Annabelles this summer. What did you end up getting?

AND ANOTHER...
Great to see some local guys here...spring is not that far off and maybe we can get together at one of the local cruises, Brunswick, Solon, Eastlake, etc.
A nice list of future mods there Erik...when I'm done remodeling the house in a year or two, if there is any money left, I may do some upgrades too.
I brought the camaro home from work today as I haven't been in it and on the highways since ?. I have it garaged in my place of work's two story underground parking garage. I missed driving it and took advantage of the blue skies and somewhat mild temps...(anything above 30 is a heatwave to a window cleaner. LOL) I hope it lasts a few more days without any precipitation, snow or rain!

Hi Rob, a couple car shows sound like fun! where in Eastlake are they held and where is Annabelles?
I got an '87 IROC Z with 40,000 original miles on it. It's not mint, but it has no rust either. 305 four barrel and automatic. The t-tops will be great fun in the summer, can't wait for it to warm up. It's just a bit faster than my '89 Olds Custom Cruiser wagon.
Near future mods to this bone-stock car will be a new Alpine 1.5 din CD player and new speakers (Just waiting for the UPS guy) and 4th gen power seats. Going to start looking through the boneyards here soon, the wife cannot drive it with the manual seats, the seat back is reclined too far in the full up position.
I love it! The 20 year wait was worth every minute.

I agree about getting together at the local car shows. I go to the Solon show about every other week, but haven't brought the Camaro there in two summers. Solon's a great show and I also like the Brunswick one (though I hardly ever get out there). Anyways, I hope to bring my car to Solon after the LT1 is up and going.

Annabelles is an old fashion diner that has cruises every Friday and Saturday night. Once known for burnouts and races, the Mentor cops have pretty well cooled the action. Take 2 to 615 and head south. Turn left onto Tyler Blvd, just past Classic Chevy, and go one mile. Turn right at the Post Office onto Twinbrook and the diner is on the left. As we get closer to the cruising season, I'll post the info again.

I'm from Sidney, Oh. Its about 40 miles north of dayton on I-75. Not to much action up here, except for every year there is a small car show that is alot of fun. After the show is over they clear out a lane though the parking lot and do burn outs for a few hours till the cops tell everyone to go home, they never give anybody tickets.

Far as I'm concerned, Traficant needs to move on. Our economy isn't very well off, since we're considered to be a corrupt area.
I work in Warren, and may be moving to Warren soon, once I get a better job and my money situation improves.
Email me if you wanna chat, or if you wanna cruise sometime after I get my car running, lemme know

TS b4c, when is the shindig held? your not too far away..
bjm323, take the car tohave e-checked, when it fails, take to repair facility & get eatimate to fix. Isn't the waiver amont $300 or so? I think a modified engine would make that

The show is always on the same day as the Jerry Lewis MDA telethon (the show donates all the money taken in). Its usualy in late August or early september.
There is also the good old cruise fest nationals which was in Sidney last year. nothing like rice rockects and ****. Its going to be held over in Columbus this year. I'm only going again for one of those. You can get information about it at www.cruisefestnationals.net . I might enter my car just for the burn out compatition to show them all up, but I'll probably just break something.

Furious about ECheck
Hi...I already checked in from Cleveland earlier, but I thought I'd just post this here also. I store the Camaro from September to May (while I'm at school). I got the car out today because it needs echeck this year. Keeping in mind that it was in perfect running order when I put it away, I drove ten miles to the echeck station and I waited in line. They pull my car in. They do their little test. They pull it to the last station where they check the gas cap pressure and smoke starts pourring from under my hood. I'm guessing my fan switch went bad during storage. The little booger that was testing my car let it overheat. When I got my car back, the coolant had boiled over and the temperature gauge was reading over 260°! Now I fully realize that I should have verified that my fan was functioning correctly before the test, but I also realize that the moron driving my car could have noticed the temperature go up about 70° over the course of a couple minutes. Ironically, the tester drives a 4th gen camaro (I knew him from high school) so he should at least know how to read a temperature gauge. I would have rather they stopped the test and I would have to come back another time than letting my coolant boil over. Needless to say, I'm pissed....and it's not like I've ever thought that echeck was actually there to help the environment rather than line some politicians' pockets.

Well that just sucks Eric. And today was such a beautiful day for riding. Like you, my car is in storage at where I work and didn't want to drive 30 miles to pick it up. I only wish I'd seen the forecast friday before leaving as I'd have been out cruising for most of the day. Now I hear the weather is going to pot next week and so I miss another weekend. Fix that fanswitch and then go fix your friend at the echeck station.

I think I'm just gonna rig up a ghetto-style fan switch just as a temporary measure until the LT1. I think if anything, I've proven that the echeck test doesn't simulate normal driving, because if the fan they used actually simulated the air coming into my engine at 25mph, then the car would not have overheated. Even in the summer, I could cruise at 25mph and the car wouldn't even get hot enough to trip the fan let alone get over 260°. Unfortunately, I'm back at school right now, so I can't do anything to the car until the weekend. Oh well...

I live in Euclid. My1stCamaro92RS I saw your car at the neocc show last year. I met you at summit friday night and I brought my 1969 camaro to the show on sunday. Can not way for the weather to break so I can get the toys out of storage. I am doing a bunch of work to my '69 this year including a new paint job and hope to have it done mid-summer. Next year the Iroc get new paint.

Hi Todd, you have a better memory than me... I remember the 69 but can't seem to place the IROC...Yeah, spring can't come soon enough. Any shows planned for this summer?
#43
With all of the work I plan on doing to my '69 I might not have it done till mid summer. I have been buying alot of parts for it this winter. I almost always go to eastlake on Saturday nights. I think I will just take the IROC up there till I finsh the '69. Last year I only brought the IROC to summit on friday night. It is red with red interior. Thanks for posting a picture of my '69.

Actually Todd, I finally found the Friday night photos and I have one half of your car. To post it would be an insult to you and a black eye for me but I can't believe I overlooked a thirdgen. As for Eastlake, I'll be looking for you if I don't go to the Brunswick cruise. Here's one at Eastlake that I will forever treasure...

Actually, there's three members from the Warren area that i know of. Myself, 82sportcoupe, and yourself.
I work at do-cut on the strip, at the parts counter. I'll be driving my 84 this summer, stop by if you see a red camaro parked there

Mansfield, Ohio here.....actually Butler but I doubt you have heard of that. Perhaps you have heard of our Division III boys basketball team,we just won state last weekend, GO COLTS! I know I told another member we were gonna win it about 3 months ago and they just laughed. Anyways, I knew I wasn't the only one from Ohio. Anybody else from the Mansfield or Mt. Vernon area? I plan on running up at Norwalk in the highschool class late this summer, maybe i'll see some other members there. I drive a dark red 88 IROC-Z, I have some friends with third gens. One has a 84 Z28, one with an 86 but don't know what model, and one with a 91 RS. We have all talked about some sort of meeting for thirdgens in Ohio but haven't seen any. Anybody know anything about one coming up this summer?
