I live in fallriver mas and i am looking for a place to take my 91z28 for a performance tune up. i just replaced the motor from a 305 to 350 and put all new sensors and ecm in the car and it has tons of bugs. i know its electrial but i have no tools to find out how my sensors are doing and what they are reading.so if there are any good shops for this in Mass. or RI let me know.

i love my ramjet. the install was a pain in a*s. i had ralph's chevrolet put the motor in. but they wouldn't finish the job. they just dropped the motor and trans in and thats it. i had to do the rest. if ur plannin on getting that motor here's a couple of pointers.
1. do not use the oil pan that comes with the motor the y-pipe will not clear for the exhaust.
2. a 12 bolt is a must. a built 10 bolt maybe will hold up but never chance it.
3. get posi. if u don't u will thrash ur spider gears. lots of torque and i mean alot.
4. the ecm will have to be moved from the engine block to the fire wall above the heater core inlet/oulet so u can run ur heater lines.
thats just what i can remember that haunted me about the install
hope i was some help, BRIAN

Whats up Fall River guys
Hey Ive seen your maroon camaro around.Bottled you never got back to me on that steering box.Maroon maybe youve seen my car around,I hyavent driven it in 2 years though, its a 89 Iroc z white with a cowl hood,I was running a Procharger at the time.Bottled,I have a scanner that can tell you whats up with your car.Are you getting any codes?Or check engine lights? You could most likley do all the work yourself.about the only thing you could do to the stock motor is up the timing and raise the FP a bit using quarters under the stock regulater.Punch out the Mass air meters screens and cut your factory air boxes.Take off your plenum and grind down the 2 little walls in the intake track.Easy stuff,Ive done it to all my friends cars. There are really no performance shops in the area, better off doing it your self.Good luck.89RS,If I see you around Ill beep.I saw you the other day,I was in my friends Eclipse. You live around durfee high school?Take it easy

procharged, i didnt need a steering box, the new pump i bought had a broken shaft in it so i had to change it and the problem was fixed, i no longer need a tuning shop. i found my first problem, i have no oil pressure at all with my new GM crate motor. I am now trying to figure out what i am going to do. warrnety ends on 4/04 and it only covers parts. i have to pull the tranny to drop the oil pan and dont have time right now. also, the oil is green and has tons of metal shavings in it. Pace Parts says that they will only cover parts and i have to send them the broken stuff. i guess it will be next year for the camaro to be done now
Sorry ,maybe a misunderstanding

No big deal.On your engine situation its probably going to cost more than its worth sending everything back and forth, because they wont warrenty anything but the parts for assembly.I have friends who have delt with a awesome engine builder in Witman Mass.He has built 4 engines for 4 of my friends, all efi.He can rebuild your broken engine for a pretty resonable price. He is a well known engine builder at NED.He is allways swamped with work and does top notch jobs.He can take your engine apart, rehone the cylinders and reasemble it correctly, and has an in house dyno to break in your motor and dyno it to make sure it is running well before it goes back in your car.Name of the place is Reids perfomance, owner Jim Reid.If you are going to gon with a local shop for the rebuild, dont bother with any of the local shops like B&K or engine service on 14th street, they do terrible work, and have saw more horror stories than I would like to come out of those clowns.Shipping on motor parts gets expensive especially when they deny your claim and blame it on you.Good luck anyway.Shoot me an email if you got some questions.
Cisco's in Pawtucket, RI.....Guys name is Jack. Guy knows his sh*t and 90% of his shop is 3rd gen parts. 8) He built my 84 Z28 over....took it from a POS to one awesome piece. I was real pleased.
