Steve, sorry again for not being able to go. I promise to make it out next meet as long as the money and job issues are better, which they should be soon.
Aaron, thanks for getting back to us. Glad to hear things are going better. Hopefully we can get a Sac Town meet going this summer and you and the other Fresno guys can come up. I will send you a pm when something happens.

It was a crazy trip
We left Saturday night to scout it out, and by the time I got out of Lincoln and onto the 193 I notice my headlights are a little dim, so I look down and "OMFG"
My voltmeter is sitting at 9 and fluctuating.
I'm like "SH*T! The alternator is out!"
So after much crying and b*tching about bad luck we turned around and went home. We used the beer that we'd bought for the trip to drown our sorrows.
The next morning I start poking around in other cars for an alternator (in my brothers 85 Firebird and his 88 Regal). The Regal has a 2.8, but it's a side mounted front wheel drive car... Doesn't matter, had a serpentine belt and a matching alternator... SCORE.
Got it off and noticed the mounting holes did not coincide with my wiring harness. Not being a fan of chopping my harness up at all, I took the alternator apart and situated the housing to the best possible location for all things considered.
It worked out great, and we were on our way to the mountains by noon on Friday.
Man it was nice up there. T-tops off the whole time. Great weather, nice water (COLD), and plenty of beer. Alot of people were up there too.
I got an SES light while on a really dusty dirt/rock road coming down the mountain one time so I stopped, and it went away. As soon as I got home Sunday morning I changed the air filter, oil filter, and oil. Still haven't checked the light to see what codes it's throwing.
I like the switch to full synthetic though, my car seems to run about 15 degrees cooler now, and it stopped alot of the startup puff of smoke.

I'd like to get involved, although my vert is in the paint shop and my be for a bit longer. I'd love to meet some of the local "thirdgenners" and use some of your ideas to get my 91 up-to-speed.

Nice to meet you Del! I don't have pics as my car is at the painters and has been for the last three months, I told him to take his time and he is! Probably better. I just put a tpi motor into my son's 69 Impala and its not up and running just yet. So, get the one project finished before finishing the vert.
I would be interested in getting to know you all a bit. You are probably much younger than I (53) but it would be fun to go on a run with you all.
Thanks for responding and I'll keep in touch. Should have the car back in the next month or so.

Welcome to the crew Ken, I'm Will.
Don't worry about age, we all share a common love for our thirdgens and that's all that really matters, I'm 23 by the way.
Hope to see you at a meet sometime soon. Make sure and post some pics when you get her back.
