Showing cord = bad

For 14" tires I wouldn't be all brand happy, just get el cheapo that is the size you want.

It's a lot easier to get that tire replaced than your whole car if it causes a blowout on the freeway.

Are you sure you have 14 inch rims? Did they even ship third gens wityh 14's?

Anyway, I got my Yokos on the cheap. Here's how:

Find a tire installer in your area who can work with you. Once you do that, go to the Tire Rack site on the net and find what you want. Have the delivery specify your tire guy's address so that when they arrive, you can just drop your car off and have him install the skins.

Check out these low bid Sumitomo's. Many more where these are found.

One of the bad things about doing it this way is you miss out on the lifetime balance and rotation deals you can get from places like Discount Tire or those other places. The way I see it, I'll be burning through my tires so fast that this is hardly an issue. hehehe

Well why don't you get out and read the size that is printed on the sidewall of your tires

That will tell you not only the exact size tire that you need, but also the size of your wheel.

Here's a link :

Sweet!

The only thing that used to be under my drivers seat was a broken bracket that would cause the seat to fly up every time I hit the gas.

Needless to say that problem was fixed.

Lol, that must have sucked :P, I'm just glad that the previous owner was a Old lady (and shes the orginal owner as well! ) and she didnt do anything to the car, just take it to the dealer for everthing (which i am questioning because of the state of the engine when i bought it from her a few months back)

I have the BFGoodRich KDWS Tires on my car, I love them. My car is a daily driver and is driven in the rain and dry weather, tires are awesome in all kinds of weather. I have over 20,000 miles on them so far and they look like they could go another 20,000 miles. Don't know if you can get them in 14" size though, I got mine at America's Tire Co, check them out.

My tires were $160 each, but I have 245/50ZR16. You have 14" rims so yours will be a lot cheaper.

Sounds like a good deal, 55K warranty is nice, although my tires never seem to last up to the warranty. Don't know why that is though, oh well.

Nice job on getting the tires done. I can't align my car either because of the idler arm, I am just to lazy to replace it for now. You should do yours though because you just got new tires, plus you have easy access to a lift, wish I had that.

Bought the idler arm at autozone today, (34 some odd dollars) I guess its also time for a lube job for all the parts under the car as well, hmm.. btw come summer time im gonna be runnin this car atleast 30miles a day! holy cow! (hanford to Visallia((Sp?)) ) BTW the tires are Remminton Himax Premium. total cost for mounting, ballancing and everything else was 206.76, the extra 50 was for the allignment.

Well, sounds like money and time well spent, atleast it's some better. Let me know how it drives once the alignment is done.

Sure will! now on to my next problem :P however its realted on a different topic, and perhaps shouldnt be put here, but its goin here, I think everybody knows that ive been replacing vacume hoses like mad, pluging up vacume leaks and such, well now i got the engine runnin great, not dieing out or anything like it used to but now it will decel after shutoff more often.. and i cant figure out why.. I did adjust a **** on my carb a few weeks back, not sure if it was the idle screw or the air/fuel mix screw.

Also, ever since i messed with that screw my Cruise control stoped working could this be related?

Oh and sorry for the novel.

To be honest with you I know nothing about carb cars and have no idea what to suggest to you. Maybe others can chime in here and help you out, otherwise I would put it in the tech/general engine section, or carb section, you will have perfect help there. Good luck.

By "decel on shutoff" do you mean the motor is "dieseling" or in other words continues to run for a bit?

Yes the other guys are correct in vacuum leaks, but double check that you didn't run your carb too lean, check timing, too much initial timing + cheap gas can equal some bad pinging.

Have you replaced the fuel filter recently?

Just some ideas for you.

If you're considering the hassle of a motor swap, go V8 and be happy.

Yea i was meaing runing on for a bit after shutdown, not sure when the last time the fuel filter was replaced, i got the filter, but when i went to put it on the nuts started striping so i stoped right then and there... been needing it to go to the shop for that...

I would swap in a V8 but, i want to keep this car in somewhat factory form lol, so if i do eventually put in a new engine it will be the v6 form.. perhaps a 4.3l and yes i ment a 4.3l

Ya, I also get free rotations and rebalances every 5,000 miles or so. I will hurry up and get mine done, the longer I wait the more damage I am going to be doing to my new tires.
