we raced at highway speeds and from as slow as 20mph . never from a dig though, could never hit a red light.

no the ses light is still on and i talked to keith at forcefed performance and he read all my codes and he said hes going to have to do in and delete the o2 codes one by one wile hes tuning it. he also said with my mods and the mail order tune i have the car doesnt now what to think so it is in limp mode right now and if i dont get it tuned soon i will end up probibly blowing the bitch up

Sounds about right kyle - these things go into limp mode if the glove box is open, but she's going to HAUL *** when she's done! Right now I can tell everyone I'm faster than a built 355 LT1 I did beat an LS1 A4 Firehawk last night though LOL Along with a lightning, a gt stang and a v6 camaro lol.

I'll have to ask vin about it. Vin's chip is REALLY holding him back, along with (but to a lesser degree) the stock injectors. I'm not surprised you pulled him.

I told vin to come over my house so he could try out my 87 350 hypertech chip to see if it made a difference. I ran a stock 305 chip in my unknown cam'd 350 for a little over a year and it ran bad a$$ when it ran. I still think it would have put a hurtin' on erics car damn I should have raced him that night

no new best for me, but i did win all of my races before calling it quits. some junk truck, fox body, '04 gto and '70 nova.
if it's cool weather next week i'll give it another go.

after us calculating his lb's per hour at 50 psi his injectors are only puttin out 20lbs an hr BAD at 6 grand

Actually I believe stock Vortecs flow pretty well and mine are just like those but cast iron and with a regular intake pattern.

Not to mention that mine are port matched, bowl blended, and pocket ported.

Your L98's are stockers. Vortec's might suck in your opinion but I am not offended because I don't have those

na.. just covering my tracks :P some one was gonna come out with that saying I didnt quite believe him anyways cause he couldnt tell me if a swap from a 2.8 to a 3.4 was legal which in this case it is... same engine family and all

vortec's- not legal but with the right intake they will pass smog

N2O- legal only in the feed line is disconnected(from bottle) on the street

VIN- I got that hypertech chip you could try out

Actually I think only a 3.1 swap is legal for your car, although I might be mistaken.


There's no way they can tell anyway, the 3.4 looks identical outside to the 2.8. Happy swapping

The way the ref told me is that, as long as the engine is in the same engine family, ie 60* v6, 90*v6, 305/350 then you can swap it. If it was offered in any car in your model line from your model year up. but then.. the OBD II swap is a hole nother story

when it comes to smog legal swaps the motor going in has to be of the same year or a later year(newer) of the car its going in. If the car was fuel injected you couldn't put in a carb'd motor. So for you any motor made from 84+ can go in your car be it v8 or v6, but it has to be from a passenger car.
