ive been calling around looks like they dont do stock aluminum wheels like the irocs at all, because of the castings, the intense heat from the baking really weakens the wheels

oh well im painting them myself.

since my mom couldnt pay for the rims to be powdercoated as a xmas gift, instead i had her buy me some dropzone springs, 2" drop here i come i know they aint the best but im not really into handling, stock handling is fine for me, i dont need to drive fast on curvy roads anyways. so a dropped car and new sensa trac shocks/struts will do it for me!

Just hurry up and get rid of the stock rims anyway. Stock sucks. 2" drop should look sweet, that's what I need for my car, lol. I want a ride in yours when it's all done to see how it handles and rides. Maybe I will drop mine with those.

Ya, I forgot, you want to be a sleeper when you roll up next to someone, and then smoke their a**. To each his own, but I still would rather have better looking rims, plus I really don't think rims are going to give someone the impression that your car is fast or has been modified, or at least modified heavily.

not just for stealth, but for the sake of being a nice clean looking stock thirdgen.

ok, whatever, as I said to each his own. I personally think you can have aftermarket rims and still look very clean, and better than stock.

Casting blah blah.....

they just didn't want your business.

my two cents on the 2" drop....good idea going with cheap shocks. as long as they are gas..gonna' have a harsh enough ride from the spring drop. Should also stick with factory swaybars..no need for change since you only want to go straight.

but if slot car handling is what someone needs, I have that.

Nope. no sarcasm.

my car has a rough ride and I've tried many combonations to remedy it.

I ride on cheap monroe gas shocks....10 times better than my old koni yellow's.

big honkin' swaybars really hurt the ride quality of these cars.
they aren't needed unless you plan on competition on road courses.

The drop will look great, but get ready for a really bumpy ride.
My Eibach springs changed the comfort quite a bit.
I've got a lot stiffer ride though in general with all the suspension mods so far.

I think chroming/powdercoating is still a good idea in the future.
It can look really good if your car comes with nice stock rims.
My gold cross laces weren't going to cut it for me though.

k (multiple explicits deleted), I'll let you win this battle, the drop wont be stock anymore, however, neither are my h4 conversion headlights

damnit I'm a loser. But im still gonna keep my stock rims, body styling (minus the rubber strip along the door ive removed long ago, their ive done it again ) and stock color paint with stock stripes and decals.

You could try these Hypercoils for under $200.

Looks nice, but the drop is not as large.
I want to get mine a little lower in the rear, might have to cut.

I didn't know if you were set on a 2" drop.

The Pro-kit I have is the moderate drop, if you want the bigger drop check out the Sportlines, those are the most popular due to the high quality and drag purpose.

If you're stuck on the cheap Dropzones.

Ask this eBay dealer:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NEW-D...spagenameZWDVW

Or:

http://www.speedstash.com/springs.html ($95)

You're welcome.

bummer man. careful when you chop 'em.

what do you have to chop them with?
i want to take off barely an inch on one side only because they are not sitting evenly in the rear.
either that, or maybe the upper part of the spring isn't fully seated in the isolator.
never had time to check it out, but it's always bugged me.

Del,Are they clocked right? If not that could cause'em to sit unevenly.I would NOT chop them,it will ride like crap!My mustang had chopped springs and it was terrible!

How do you mean clocked right?
You mean inserted the wrong way?
It's a possibility, and believe me I'm in no hurry to chop.
I've had a slight squeak coming from the rear pass wheel well too, that's where the uneven one is, so maybe I just need to reseat them in the isolator or something? i don't know.
my ride is stiff and bumpy and is it is with them, rather not chop.
