Wierd noises

Wierd noises

when im driving and i let off the gas my car starts making a weird noise...but when i give it some gas i dont hear it anymore.....any ideas on what the problem could be and how much it would cost to fix....one of my buddys says it could be that my drive train is out of wack and needs a new baring or something. well any info would help thanks

sounds like a low thumping. probably thumps 3-4 times a second

u joints is a definite possibility.. could be early signs of rear end takin an early retirement.... can u hear or feel what part of the car its comin from?

U joints, but definitely check your torque arm / panhard / rear suspension while ur under there.

ive had cars come into my shop that were missing a couple of pinion teeth and only made a thumping noise on decel or when you use reverse. check that and like everyone said check your u joints and rear suspension

what about the C clips that hold the axil in place...could it be those?

no if the c clip was broken when you turn the corner your axle would fly out. it would also have nothing to do with the noise only coming on in decel.
