New Here
Well I'm new here and am very interested in picking up a 5.7 Iroc with ttops? Whats the going price for these babies nowadays? Also, are these pretty quick cars? this is going to be my first car so I want something with some power but not too much so im constantly speeding. I love the look of the iroc so I thought, hey why not.
Also, is it hard to get these cars to perform and still pass smog? What are the basic mods to these cars that will still allow them to pass smog?
This place looks like it is a goldmine of information. I can't wait to learn
.
Thanks, Dennis.

thanks for choosing westcoast for your first post.
where abouts is gilroy?
anyways back on topic, u can pick up a decent iroc i believe for anywhere from 3500, to 6k if u want something really nice.
you check out craigslist.com much? thats a good place to start.
as long as you keep up on maintainance and carb legal mods, passing smog isnt any harder then any other car.
basic mods for starters is hands down, headers and exhaust, they make the biggest power for the buck.
and for starters as well, though i am guilty of yet doing, is subframe connectors, i hear they really stiffen up the ride. and everyone recomends it as a very first mod, for structual rigidity.
however i kinda went the all motor before anything else mod. lol

As long as you know that the IROC is the car you want, it can go as fast as your wallet wants it to go (just like any car IMO).
The first / easiet / necessary mods are definitely FULL exhaust and I'd recommend a TB Bypass for sure!

Subframes first (or you'll never do it)
BTW when I grew up in Almaden area we used to race on Bailey ave. then go to Gilroy (garlic) and highway race.
I have family in Salinas.

Guilty also. So what's the best SFC kit out there? Spohn probably, right? (Might break down and do it after the wife's ride is back on the road.)
