What do you think
some of you know I was gonna buy another thirdgen(Im tired of driving the nissan). I've been thinking with the money I would spend on a thirdgen($2500-$3000) I could get my heads, cam , and wire harness. maybe even some other little things. so what do you guys think?

I'm confused.
Buy parts for the current third gen or buy parts for the Nissan? Buy parts for the current third gen or get another third gen altogether?

finish the iroc dude, duh.
another 3rd gen will just suck up more $.
keep drivin' the pos nissan.
it will make the other that much more enjoyable when it's done.
then you can sell the nissan and paint your finished iroc.

As much as I'd like to say, 'hey bro buy my 84', I really would actually like to see your IROC actually move

It's hard to say on this one. Keep the pos Nissan and keep saving for the real thirdgen is what I would say, but I also know how it is not being able to daily drive a thirdgen, and let's face it, it sucks, lol. Don't want to step on any deals already being made with you and Vin, but you could have my thirdgen for 3,300 and I will give you every single new part I have for it included in that price, even the almighty 145mph gauage cluster I have for it. Just keep it in mind. I would love to see the car go local and to someone who will treat it right and keep the project going, let me know.

christ. that's over $9,000 what you listed.
what about the motor???
do you have 2500-3K right now to toss around?
seems like you could get it on the road for 3K and accumulate the details later.
if i waited till i had everything done on my car that i want, it would NEVER get on the road.
Will, you're ready to just sell your ride at the drop of a hat?
I'm displeased at hearing this, but not too surprised.
I remember hearing rumors of a Cobalt not too long ago.
What're you going to leave our 3rd gen world to drive?

They were both going to get Cobalts at one time I heard.
I don't think Will is as partial to his 3rd gen as others though.
Not sure why, great car, lots of potential as I always say.

ahh, very nice.
sounds like you should be able to get it streetable way before '07 though.
hmm, well, that's how it goes i guess.
Will and Eric both have something in common then,
neither one wants their car, and both want a hardtop.
i just can't imagine investing so much time/$ just to change over for that.
y'all check out my 'bird without wings? heh.

what the hell is wrong with you guys, Will bought the cobalt for his wife. I went with Will today and looked at a few cars with him. I'm pretty confident he is picking up the brand new GTO.

Thanks Travis for clearing this mess up.
As Travis said the Cobalt was purchased about 9 months ago for my wife. I never wanted one for myself. Yes, I have always wanted a hardtop tpi, but I am over that now. I don't want any thirdgen anymore, maybe sometime in the future when I can have exactly what I want. Plus it comes down to having the money to fix it the way I want. Most of you know I like things perfect, new parts only, and GM stuff only if I can. Being the freak I am this takes way too much money and time, something I don't have and want to do at this point in my life. I may be changing jobs soon, next week, and it will require taking clients out to lunch, going to their house, etc. I will be a financial advisor, something I have always dreamed of. I will need a nice practical daily driver, 4 door would be the best. The only thing I will not give on is it must be a 6spd, and semi fast factory. The GTO is a dream, and it looks like it has a very good chance in the mix of the cars I am looking at. Oh, I am in no way getting a BMW, I hated it, pile of sh*t, and the sales people have their heads way up their as*. I love thirdgens, and will have one again some day, trust me. Just because I won't have one doesn't mean I won't want to talk with you all and hang with you guys. I am not like that and will not disappear.

Congrats to you on the new job bro!
I'd definitely be impressed riding around in a new GTO, those interiors are sah-weet!
As much as I'll miss your CFI around, at least you know that another thirdgen will be in your future.

You wouldn't be the first to get a GTO from this forum (Kyle). What's not to like with the 6 spd, V8, Pontiac heritage?

Well I can't say I wouldn't jump into a GTO if I had the opportunity to.
Primarilty the newer styling/LS2. What's not to like about low 13's out of the box with some Pontiac power.
Anyways, hope you weren't perturbed at the comments Will, I'm just not a fan of change, but it's inevitable.
Y'all are young and I understand job and priorities change and I shouldn't expect folks to hold onto their 3rd gens forever.
Just a shame to lose another one, but that's how it goes.
What other cars are you pondering and congrats on the new job, how did you get into that?

Story: Went to check out an '89 Land Rover for sale for 600 bucks with a friend. It had a horrible rod knock and this car in the same driveway. Once we started talking about the Firebird, it was clear how the owner acquired the rod knock in his engine.

Well guys, it's official, GTO is all mine. 06 with 6spd. tranny, black interior, 18" alloy wheels, and stealth gray metallic paint. WOOT!!! Pics will be up on Tuesday. I won't get the car until Monday morning, dealer had to do a trade out of town to get me the perfect one.
Steve, I would like 4k, but flexible on the price. May seem high but you know I have a sh*t load of money into the car, plus many more parts and crap I have never even put on. This week the car is going into the shop to have the tranny serviced, input shaft leak fixed, and I am having some performance shifting parts put in, servo, etc. Then it's off to the body shop to have some dings and dents taken out, the car will be primed and sealed and ready for paint. Plus I am giving the weatherstripping with the car, 145mph gauge cluster, new abs plastic pre-covered t-top headliner, and new matching sun visors too. I even have a brand new GM rear view mirror, and gas door for the car, plus a new GM dome lamp assembly, plus even more crap, all new GM parts of course. There really is too much to list about the car. Let me know if you want to know more, need pics, anything. Oh, and don't forget the brand new BFGoodrich KDWS tires all around on the car, size is 245/50-16. Ok, really, last part I think is important to list, I have a new GM outer t-top bar, the part that mounts to the body of the car in between the t-tops.

wow, that was quick.
congrats on taking the plunge and welcome to the pontiac side.
sounds like the paint is similar to mine,
what're the 06's going for loaded like that, 35K?
quite a jump going from the CFI to a 400hp400tq monster.

You need a certain amount of education and experience to be a CFP, doubtful.
I'd be interested to hear more of what you're actually doing Will and how you got into it.

Transmission: 4spd. Auto
Axle/Gears: 3.73 locking diff.
Del, sticker price is only 33,200, I got it for 31k. It's fully loaded, there is actually no options for the car, they come fully loaded from the factory, only option is 18" wheels, which I have, and then they charge you for the 6spd. tranny, another thing I went for.
As Travis said, no co-signers, just me and my wife, very good credit for both of us.
As for my new job and being a CFP, no I am not certified yet, that will take about 2 years in the job before I can even be eligible for that. But in about 3 months I will have my NASD Series 7 & 66 licenses. With those I can help you guys with stocks, bonds, mutual funds, 401k's, money market accounts, and lots more. I will even have my life insurance license, health insurance, etc.
