actually, I've had it with my engine. It's gonna blow. last night at the track I started hearing a ticking/knocking sound, and now its gotten worse, I assumed it was my TC bolts again, but not this time I tightened them all up and still nothing except big *** noises. I fear the worst, and I may just part the engine out before i ruin the heads.

MAF = Mass Air Flow

SD = ??

This is another reason why I needn't be a mod. I don't know these things.

SD = Speed Density which I've always said from the start, is much better at handeling mods than MAF.

My '93 Firebird was the last year of SD in the Fbody. I was able to get 360+ RWHP N/A and 500+ RWHP with the help of my little blue bottle in the trunk before I had a need for calibration.

At the same time, friends with later 94 and up Fbody, were having drivability issues with just a few bolt-ons.

I was running an LT4 hot cam and ported cylinder heads with 2.02/1.6 valves and the car ran smooth as butter

I wish my '88 was Speed Density....

for some reason my video clip cut out. but u get the idea.

i dont see how a rod could have broke, they were forged eagles.

and if i give it some gas, the engine sounds fine!

are you sure its something that bad? The engine is brand new, how can it be failing already? You just got that thing done, you can't just throw it away.

lol soo many options, im a little more calmed down now, Ill wait and pull the tranny, take a look at the flexplate see if maybe thats the root of all problems (bent/cracked or loose from crankshaft) and if thats not the case, then I will be parting it out because then its defintely an internal problem.

see you all tomorrow in the ****ty 4th gen!

An old friend had a bad knock that he thought was a spun bearing that ended up being the flexplate was cracked at all 3 bolts and was ready to fly out!It got worse the more he ran it.Hopefully that's all it is.
