Do you Think First Injections Intake will Pass Smog
I moved to CA in November from CT. I currently have a HSR intake with Hot Cam, Edlebrock headers, and TrickFlow Heads. I have'nt been able to drive my car because a month after I moved out here my trans blew up(700r4). I'm going to be installing a TKO 600 in about a month to remedy my trans problem.
Next thing is the intake I know the HSR won't pass smog unless someone could hook me up. Which I doubt will happen. So I'm looking for another Intake that will pass I've been looking at the First Injections intake.

Do you guys think this will pass smog. I love the HSR but I did'nt think I'd have to deal with CA smog when I put it on. All the other smog crap is still hooked up. I know my other options are the Super Ram or a High flow LTR setup but the SR is a pain and I think the LTR will make my cam useless.
Any advice, tips or tricks would be great.
Thanks
Frank

Simple answer: Is it CARB approved?
Detailed: As long as the setup isnt "hugely" different from stock, it should pass. Most inspections were i am dont get to involved, hell i removed my EFE valve and they couldnt give a crap. The big thing to worry about would be numbers from the sniffer.
Good luck

If I heard right from a friend, if you bring an out of state car into California then you are still able to use the old states smog laws on that car. Otherwise... I don't think there would be too many cars allowed to be brought into California.
Some parts of the state let you get away with a lot and other parts don't.
Good luck!

If it was origianlly setup as a Federal car, that is the requirement.
If it was a CA car, it must pass CA regs.

I'm willing to bet that most smog techs would pass a straight tb FIRST setup, especially if you went with a non-flashy satin unit . . . the only noticeable difference(unless the tech sees a lot of 3rd gens) is that it says FIRST on the plenum, but im sure you could bs a story about that or just grind it off if it came down to it.
just have the tech look at it before you start the test, otherwise they might not check until the end and you'll end up paying for the full test if he doesnt like it, or worse i think they can write a note about the visual fail and you would have to swap back to stock to pass anywhere.
im not to the point where im gonna buy one yet, but i was planning on just passing it as stock without getting a hookup.

ill buy your hsr
but if you want carb approval than go with the accel super ram,
all those posts above are wrong to a degree, lets put it this way its dependent upon the smog tech what he knows, what he cares about,
most of them are a bunch of retards,
it does not matter if your car is out of state it has to pass smog to what ORIGNALLY came on the car regardless of federal emissions or california or your previous states emissions requirements
i used to work at a smog shop and we used to get those cars all the time where they removed it all.. than had to have us fix it haha
let me know if you need any help if you fail the tail pipe or need any other advice also let me know if your gonna sell the hsr

I'm still not sure if I'll sell it. It has less than 500 miles on it. I might be stuck getting a Super Ram. Everything else is hooked up on my car except the EGR.
I had my daily driver smogged and the tech was busting my ***** because my timing was one degree off.
I'm not sure if my car will pass the tailpipe test. Can you get that checked before you smog?
