why stay automatic?
why stay automatic when you can get a clutchless T-56!
bah i always make the wrong decisions!
Video - Demonstration of the Liberty's Gear, face plate engagement modified T56. The upshifts are done without the clutch.

cuz a t-56 gear ratios are gay, not as gay as your 700r4 but none the less.
I was pretty dead set on getting a tremec tko 600 but their gear ratios suck too.
Th400 or Power Glide are next, havent decided yet. Probably wind up with the 400.

in aftermarket trannies, i can find lots of gear ratios availabile, you dont like any of them? I would like to see a 2.9 first followed by around a 1.8 second 1.4 third and a 1:1 fourth.

2.9s way too steep for me, least for my car, i have to feather it w/ my T-5. Id like a 2.5-2-1.5-1 or atleast close to that. The Muncie was bad ***
2.52-1.88-1.46-1 or even 2.20-1.64-1.28-1. But none of them can handle any power, I wouldnt even consider something w/ a first gear close to a 3.0 anymore. 2.5ish seems like it would be nice for my car. Plus going through clutchs isnt any fun. Haveing no power to the wheels while ur shifting isn't any fun. Sure the parasetic loss is nice but ET wise you really can't beat an auto. For each their own tho.

oh also power level wise manual trannys are kinda ****ty, not that they dont make any but then be prepared to start really dishin out some cash. Till im rich my **** stays on a budget, and even that is normally too much.

on the first run watch, its clutchless, you do need the clutch to downshift, and still need it for 5th and 6th gear, but 1-4 you can get away with it, but it is less harmful if you still use the clutch but for racing nights on occasion, a lil clutchless shifting is ok.

you dont need any modification to "rev match" would be the proper term.....
now if it was sequential with dog teeth that would be sick

this isnt rev matching dork, i bet thats how you race down the quarter, also would explain some sorry times.
btw who rev matches down the strip? when you pop it out of gear, i hope your not giving the engine enough time to drop in rpm to get into the next gear. lol

Also, T56's can usually be fixed pretty inexpensively, depending on what breaks. They really aren't that tough to remove or to take apart and put back together. There are also tons of upgraded parts for them.

Of course my car isn't a dedicated drag car, it will see the strip but it's mainly a street car. Autos rule for consistency in drag racing but I don't think they are nearly as fun or really make for a well rounded car. To each his own.

I don't know how fast your car is but I've read about a lot of fast cars on stock T56's.. and you can always upgrade to Viper internals. I don't really know what the hot ticket is for aftermarket transmissions since I plan on keeping my T56 until it is no longer fixable (cracked case?) and haven't researched them.
Mine still doesn't have as much as a grind or a whine to it, although honestly I've never powershifted it.

ya doesnt take much i beat the living **** out of mine i shift it so hard lol its fun
only difference between mine and a vipers is the tailshaft is not 30 teeth,
its the carbon fibre retainer rings, steel keeys, steel 3-4 shift fork, blah blah blah lots more
with my exact build ive seen it run 9 secons consitently beat on
than again thats why my swap was 4K
