BTW.. the accident was deamed No one at fault.....

Thanks guys, yea i'm not sure what i'm gonna do with the car, I only had liabilty, so not going to get anything from the insureance company. its gonna sit for a few weeks before i figure out what i am going to do with it... Thank god for steel cars.. even if it is a unibody. on GM's part.

The car could go up to be parted out here soon, ill let you all know.
----------
The core support is smashed, the fan litterlly cut the a/c compressor belt, the car will never be the same, too much frame damage...

Just was able to pop open the hood on the car... The core support is destroyed, everything in the front driverside is gone.. nothing good.. a lot of sheet metal/frame is gonna have to be replaced inorder to fix it.

Plus burlys are rare, dont part it out. Id spend the extra $$$ to have it fix. It must be a tough camaro. Besides it looks to be solid and looks like it has low milage. Keep all of us posted

That's a heck of a crunch. Problem is the core support is welded in, and tough to get out, and install a new one.

Good luck.

I hit a deer in my '93 Eclipse back in the day. My brother and I drilled out the spot welds, removed said crushed core support, straightened the bent front end, replaced core support/radiator/hood/windsheild and never told the insurance. (Sold it for $500 the next year and got my wife a mountain bike) The car still goes down the road today! That might have been a waste of $, but a Berly is worth it IMO. I still have that driver's side door if you want it for FREE! Come and get it. It's definitely up to you, but if they do total it and you are gonna let her go, definitely don't crush her! Someone could fix her up nice. Sorry for your loss, BTW.

. Our cars a very rare how many 83 burlys do you see compared to Z28s and IROCs not much at all. But I hope you can fix it that would be a shame to have 1 less 83 burly out there

I have an 84 berlinetta that had more damage than that on it.. cost $500 to get the frame repaired and another $300 to replace the needed parts... most people spend alot more on thier third gens than that for upgrades... so it is resonable to fix it.

Hey Brandon, Sorry for your loss, Personally, I would let it go. Just think of the options available now to pickup a better thirdgen, option-wise. Unless you are really hooked on that car, Then I agree, It can be repaired.

well, heres the story...

going down the road (twelveth ave, traveling north) i come to a part of the road that is horable about people slamming on their brakes so i slow down to about 40mpg (speed limit is 45) a redish 93+ mudstang slamed on its brakes to make the turn that it almost misseed, causing the ford (looked like an f250) to slam on its breaks, then the truck that i hit (a 70 or 80's ranger) slamed on her breaks, i slamed on mine, locked up the drums, while trying to dodge the ranger, cliped the ranger on the passanger side rear bumper.

What surpised the hell out of me is when she called the police to come, she got the year of my car correct.. but then i found out her husband was a cop hanford PD arrived about fifteen min later, first words out of his mouth to me was... "In a hurry there buddy?" i wanted to deck the cop...

Thankfully, the lady who i hit, said that it was unavoiable that i hit her, just not enough time for me to stop even with the proper 3 car length distance i was following at... No one was cited for the accident, and it was demed no one at fault....

Ellen, I wouldnt touch your GTA to restore it, IM sorry but seeing how hot that Fire got, i wouldn't trust the body of that car, even though it has SFC on it, not that i'm trying to seem mean, its just that i would never touch a car that has been in a fire.

Me and ellen took a look at the camaro last night, other then the core support being destroyed, the steering(possably the steering collum as well)needing to be replaced, bumbper and driverside fender the car is preaty much straight, however the inner fender needs to be fixed as well, where it connects to the core support is toast.. it will be alteast need to be cut out, and have a good piece welded in.

All stuff that should unbolt/bolt up. There's got to be some stuff off Ellen's that would salvage? The steering, core and innner fender anyways.

lookin at an IROC-Z, tell you the truth, i dont have the money to properly repair the berly, and to me, to tell the truth, its just not worth repairing, yea, i know i'll spend more on a iroc, then to repair the berly, its just i dont have the time to do it, and i need a car ASAP.
