A/C Delete

Hey guys,

What parts should I keep my eyes open for a/c delete? Box & pulley? Really gotta clean up that passenger side so I can work on the engine

Is the power gain trivial from not having to turn the ac compressor or is it actually substantial?

OOOH, and where should I get that copper or aluminum header gasket? Something tells me Mr. Gasket @ napa / kragen wont work

Eric was selling the delete pullies for $40.

Nick, the header gaskets I bought were "Percy's Dead Soft Aluminum", and I love them. We talked about these at the gtg. I got them from Summit too and here's a link:

Percy's Seal-4-Good Header Gaskets: PHP-66011 - summitracing.com

The power gain is a few ponies I believe, not like 50HP or anything, but you are also losing a lot of weight and once you get rid of that and the air injection stuff you will be surprised how much it cleans up your engine bay (like mine).

You should figure which car you want to be A/C and which one you don't because I know your white car has most everything in it and it is nice to have during the summer.

The A/C is already working in the 91 so that's the bird I'll have it in. A/C never worked for my GTA, figured it needed a charge or something.

I just saw some guy selling a 'complete kit' for the a/c delete stuff for $300 and i was like wtf? So didn't know all the stuff that's needed...

I'm goin to pick up that aluminum gasket too thanks

Got my MSD wiring harness, cap & rotor today too. Just need some good wires and my ignition system is complete.

all you need really is an ac delete pulley, and a heater box thats it...

i have pulleys brand new with 1yr warranty for $40 for you bro

you seen the exact one i am selling at the meet on my car...

i can make you a set of msd wires which are custom fit and look nicer its only about $50 for the wires, and ends....

if you want we can setup a time for deleting your ac and makin new wire set.

When you do the "box" post up a pic. I did the pulley and yanked out most of the a/c but haven't touched the firewall. I noticed a power gain, but I think it might be the weight loss also. The lighter the front end is the faster you can go.

Thanks Eric, lets make up some custom wires.

If you guys could, keep your eyes out for a A/C Delete box.
