Found that a bad injector flooded cylinder #2, thats why it was cold to the touch, also effected the rest of that bank, flexplate bolts were a little lose at the crank. I can never keep those guys cranked down. Some bores have some nice vertical scratches in them. my finger nail can even catch them. Definitely getting new pistons, and getting it bored, hopefully only .010 more over.

Maybe you should get those smaller injectors now. Sucks about the scratches. Who's doing the machine work? I used Hinds machine in placerville for my toyota. He knew quite a it about sbc's.

I'm gonna go back to goulds pro cylinder. down the street from hinds. I've heard mixed opinions on Hinds. and goulds did the previous work, they charge premium but they made sure everything was done right and always got my approval first.

yes I am gonna step back to 24's and then once I can get around to proper tuning, I will see how much farther i need to take the injector rate.

All you had to do was ask.

Don't get his chevelle confused with his nova. nova is slow, and the chevelle is only a tad bit faster.

I asked in some other thread with no response, of course it was the only option left.
How much do those go for and what do they entail besides the no smog stuff?
What is the advantage over HSR?

They run about 1200 bucks all said and done. The shorter runners provide a slightly higher power band which will help match my new camshaft. Also, these will more properly match my cylinder heads with 1206 gaskets which the stealthram cannot easily be port matched too without adding material.

HA HA HA! Quit talkin poo, Trav My nova has routinely been faster than your IROC. You just got that freak 13.2. My 1969 Chevelle has a gen VI BBC 468 with rectangle port heads, a "fun" all roller valevtrain, Benny's old 700r4 that I will probably kill, and a 3.73 trutrac 12 bolt. All Edelbrock rear suspension with a tall spindle conversion in the front, Hotchkis sway bars, 17 in Ralley wheels. Oh yeah, it's column shifted with a vynil top. I hope to run 11s with stickies on motor and to stay ahead of TraviZ, I might spray or ProCharge it. I'm callin' you out Travis.

I know I'm coming in late in the thread, but is this pic of the engine bay on the "Pink Fairy" and if so, why are your inner fenders/firewall black and blue? Or is the pic bad?

Did you black it out when you swapped a motor, or are they new inner fenders?

Definitely looks better in person than through tiny camera phone pics.

Did you ever find the guy in P-Ville who is rolling around town with your "knock-o-matic 383"?

Does Bob have your strut mount cap?
