Motivation meet!!!!!!!
I was talking to eric the other day about our plans for our Irocs. what it came down to was we are just not motivated to work on them. Me because I just dont have time to, he wasn't motivated to work on his because we don't meet up like we used to. Having 1-2 thirdgens cruz isn't fun. I agree. I miss those days when we would meet at in & out and it would be atleast 5 of us in thirdgens, or when we would go the the track on wednesday night and a couple of us would be racing.
Maybe if some people show up to this meet bennie wants to have, it will light a fire under a couple of us to get our cars finished.
I think I'll work on my Iroc tomarrow, see if I can get the rear end back to the earth

Re: Motivation meet!!!!!!!
There comes a time when you have to motivate yourself bro.
For me, it narrows down to the fact that whether there are 100 thirdgens cruising with me or not, I will always enjoy my IROC, and wrenching on it.
I agree and see your very valid point however...
I think the weather / broken cars / bad meet turnouts / flaky newbies / current bickering in the forum has led to an all time low in morale.
I know I'm not the only one who feels this way, nor the only regular who isn't posting as much anymore.

Re: Motivation meet!!!!!!!
Getting engaged, married and becoming a father all in the last 2 years I can relate to having a project car and not having the time, $$$ or motivation to get our cars 'finished'.
I doubt I will ever get back into modifying, or spending $$ on my bird like I had in my 20's. . .but I've made a decision to keep it -- and keep it in a good running condition, drive the car often. And who knows, maybe one of these days I will have the time to make it back to a meet and drag again.

Re: Motivation meet!!!!!!!
i can agree
sure im self motivated sure there are people who i cruize with who dont associate with tgo. but i can agree with vinnie hell i dont even look at tgo but once every other day now cause you can hear crickets ahha..
i have kind of lost my motivation on my iroc from a few reasons the first and most reason the law i always seem to get into trouble taking it out. the last 5 times ive taken the iroc out ive gotten pulled over which is part of the reason i dont want to go through with the build if i can get my self into that much trouble with a stock iroc what kind of trouble can i get my self into with a highly modifed iroc if i suddenly have 600 to 800hp under my foot whats gonna happen than?
2nd reason would be im tried of wasting all my money on the car haha although i have alot of the parts time to pay off debt
3rd would be tgo motivation it seems you guys have called it right on the money, vinnie called it right on the money
"I think the weather / broken cars / bad meet turnouts / flaky newbies / current bickering in the forum has led to an all time low in morale. "

Re: Motivation meet!!!!!!!
I would come, but I dont have the money for gas. And in chico here, everyone meets up at Carls Jr and everyone cruizes and goes to the street races. On a good day, there are around like 40 cars parked and many more cruising and on a good night around 150 people at the street races. If you guys came down here, I would gladly show you around and we could cruise around. I am usually the only thirdgen out, that is nice atleast. A few horrible V6's though.
----------
I promiss I will come down for a few meets if I have the money though, as long as there are more that 5 thirdgens.

I have motivation, it's lack of cash that keeps mine down. I miss driving it, and having that nice v8 rumble.

Re: Motivation meet!!!!!!!
Good points guys, I feel ya on most of them.
'07 is pretty slim thus far for 3rd gen happenings.
I attribute it mostly to the big project undertakings that really had no chance to be done by springtime, as we are closing in on summer.
I see myself, Travis, Terrell, Steve & Eric as the front runners when it comes to getting these mild GTG's organized and with 3-4 of the 5 out of commission, it's tough.
Be great to have some new folks and our yey area friends join us, but we need to get our junk together before we can say much on the matter.
Bad weather and bickering are not valid excuses at this point and flaky turnouts are a result of the broken / project rides.
Bully - Sounds like you have a pretty good scene as it is up there, much better than what we can offer down here at this point.
Keep on moving fwd and chipping away as time & $ allows on the rides - the summer can still be salvaged.
I know I don't need to have a ton of 3rd gens to go out and cruise, as I love to drive my car regardless, but it sure adds to the experience to have others around that enjoy them just as much.

Re: Motivation meet!!!!!!!
I just bought a house with my wife and I didn't realize I would lose all my motivation on my IROC. I always had my car clean, now its dusty and dirty sitting in the garage. I even have everything I need to put my new wheels on, but don't have the time!
I think the best method is to set aside a day to enjoy the car. When you force yourself or get rushed into it, you lose the fun and the motivation.
Even though times in our lives change along with priorities, deep down inside we'll always come back to our original priority!

Re: Motivation meet!!!!!!!
Ya'll are lucky there are some 3rd gens around you. There are none around here, so I don't really get that kind of motivation.
I'm only so motivated to do mine since I just got it. Hopefully that interest doesn't slack. lol

Re: Motivation meet!!!!!!!
ironic how you're a cylinder head distributor and don't have any cylinder heads
Re: Motivation meet!!!!!!!
I like thirdgens alot still, I'd love to go to the next meet. I may have a 4th gen, but its still a Z28! Its hard for me to make plans for my car when it has to be a reliable DD too, but I do small things when i can and can afford to!
