Re: 24 pictures!

I think I just looked at 24 pictures of 2 things.

How about a little explanation to go with them? I mean, I can see that some body/surface work was done, but I dont know enough about your car or its status to understand the significance of what I'm looking at.

Re: 24 pictures!

For those of you who arn't in the know, The Travster took several gallons of paint stripper and pulled off all the ugly top coats layer by layer. This was super labor intensive and took a couple months of scraping and scrubbing!!!! (ask him if he'd ever do the same job over again...)

He's going to lay some color down that will 'pop' big-tyme. You'd have to see it to really appreciate it.

Travis, I hope I didn't speak out of turn here. Is the front bumper still there or did you give it away? I can't believe I've never made it back yet to grab it. Nitro

Nice work man. I can't wait to see the end result. My '54 is getting paint right now. When the TPI comes back from chrome, I 'll post some pics of it as it'll be 3rd gen related.

Re: 24 pictures!

Wow Travis! Now the fun can begin!!!

Hey, I feel like an idiot for not having picked up that front bumper- go ahead and give it to someone who needs it. My IROC has sucked up all my frick'en time this year. I got the 9-bolt finished up with new bearings, seals, 3.27 gears, paid out $3000 to get my 700R4 up to Stage III standards, set the torque converter at 2200rpm, went through the entire 4 wheel disc brake system new, powdercoated suspension parts, and the engine builder STILL hasn't done my ZZ4 block to spec's (eight months later)! Of course I kept changing my build sheet, as I kept learning how to eek out as much torque out of our TPI systems. I think he initially had over 40+ engines to build before he got to mine. I think I'll need another six months still to get to the point where you are with yours.

Wouldn't it be nice if we could afford to hire someone to do the finish work???!!!! Of course I could get some help, but I keep finding great deals on old winchester rifles this year.....

I've been taking my G35 to Infinion Drags this season since the IROC is always in multiple piles of parts, but I just found out that my 19" factory rear tyres that I've been burning off are around $350 bucks each to replace!!! (whoops.....) Just Frustrated. Nitro

Re: 24 pictures!

Pretty much finished production, These pics were taken before more coats were applied, all the flaws have been covered up, but you get the idea what it looks like now

..and me taking a break.

I forgot I took this one with my phone, this is the finished product, Sorry, either its small and clear or large and distorted.

Re: 24 pictures!

So is the pink fairy going to become a black beast? I'm confused. Either way, it looks like you've picked up a new trade. Ever think of getting ASE certified? Looks like good work. What are your plans for the rest of the car? Congratulations!

Re: 24 pictures!

Hey Travis, did you keep track of your approximate hours??? And, by any chance does any one know what it would cost to have the engine compartment media blasted? (all those nooks & cranies)

Did you do mostly coats of fill primer or?

Lastly, I still need to rebuild my entire front suspension; Will it be any easier to do once I yank the original L98 block out? Or do I need the engine still in to align things up??? I would imangine the K-member would be easier with an empty compartment..... Nitro-Nicky
