Tool Recommendations...
Anyone know of a good set that doesn't skip metric sizes? I mainly need deep sockets. The set I have and the sets I have seen in stores stupidly skip sizes and it's always the size I need.
Know of any good deals goin on?

Re: Tool Recommendations...
I just bought a set of 3/8" drive deep metric sockets from my Matco guy, I think they were about $80 or so for the set (which may sound expensive but they are stronger than Harbor Freight/Craftsman type stuff and they have a lifetime warranty). These are the Silver Eagle line (equivalent to Snap On's Bluepoint line)...

Re: Tool Recommendations...
just go for the crapsmen get the whole set like this
heres a good one i have one similar and there hasnt been a thing i have not been able to do on a 3rd gen or any car with all these tools
im not counting all my specialty tools ie crimpers, wire cutters, air tools, ect.
this is your basic handtool set
http://www.sears.com/sr/javasr/produ...nics+Tool+Sets
as much as i hate everything else from sears cant beat it ive only ever broken 1 socket that was with an 1/2 in drive impact on full blast 1000ftlb trying to break loose a head bolt ahha
so like a 284 piece with the blow molded case is good.
edit: at a little less than a dollar a piece thats a good buy

I have that set too. I bought it like damn......15 years ago???? Some of you were still riding your BMX or bike on training wheels.....hahahaha Yeah I'm old. But now I have added..let's just say quite a few tools. Porkyzilla and I were estimating all the tools and my box and came up with something ridiculous amount......35k+ or was that 50k+. it was late and we were tired.
That set posted by Porkyzilla is a great starting set. I'd recommend that set. I still use those Craftsman socket to this day. I have not justified on buying the snap-on/matco/mac sockets. Even my wrenches are the craftsman professional. I admit though that if you work on the car alot, I recommend get the Snap-On rachet.

Don't forget the Torx head set you'll need. Especially with TPI.
