Re: im bed bound and bored

Glad to see all of you today and know firsthand that the man of the hour is feeling fine and out of the 'klink.

Great post Del, pic looks like a tough crowd!

Love the new sticky too btw

* Attempt to be courteous and intelligent, even if you are not. Nobody likes to read the ramblings of a rude and incoherent poster.
* Selling something locally? Great! Do not bump your post to the top every day and of course the items better be 3rd gen related.

Re: im bed bound and bored

Thanks for the kind comments everyone, I have been home for a few days now, and finally getting up and about. Doing nothing for a couple weeks sure makes you tired. As some of you know I was in the Folsom hospital for a week then transfered to the San Juan hospital more in rancho cordova. But for my first weeks stay at the Folsom hospital, my bill came and it was just a tad under 71k, awesome huh? I hope medi-cal doesn't let me down lol.

Re: im bed bound and bored

Medi-cal is better then the current offerings through Kragen. At least the hospital didn't need to get insurance permission for all my tests and surgery each time they wanted something. I am signing up for dental this year however unless I missed the online sign up date.

Re: im bed bound and bored

Hey Travis, This is Steves wife, Darienne. Even if medi-cal doesnt pick up the entire bill, dont worry about it. I do hospital billing. The hospital doesnt really expect a 21 year old that was just diagnosed with Cancer to be able to pay their rediculously outrageous bills. Hospitals write off hundreds of thousands of dollars each month for people in your situation. I am sure that Medi-cal will take care of most of it, but if not dont worry. Just ask the hospitals if they have a charity assistance program. Pretty much every hospital has a similar program. They wil take care of you. Take care Kiddo!

Re: im bed bound and bored

For anyone still interested in my progress, I have been out of the hospital two weeks now, tomorrow I am going to get blood work done to see what my current numbers are at, and on monday is my second chemotherapy session (I'm really starting to hate that word, chemo, lol). I am sure its going to put me in bed again for a few days again like it did last time, but in the end I hope it comes out for the better.

Re: im bed bound and bored

Sorry I couldnt make the Tour Mike, It was a get in get out kind of deal, I hate dealing with real city traffic.
Good news is that the stanford doc's say my cancer is in recession so only 5 more chemo's (10 weeks) and I should be all done. I have to get constant pet scans to keep track of my well being over the next 5 years, and I don't want to go into details if it creeps back up again (very bad). so I won't bore you with that. But if you are interested I can post some killer 3D pictures of my body on the inside!

Wow dude, hang in there!!! My father had to have his spleen removed in 1999. It was bigger than an NFL football. He went through all the chemo and blood transfusions and almost died from being so weak and sick, but he hung in there and lived a good healthy life until Nov 2003 when he passed away from full blown cancer and pneumonia. I really miss my dad.

I was praying I didn't get one when I got my vasectomy. I was all doped up on valume, localized, and was vulnerable. Atleast my wife was in the room with me. What exactly does that pic show other than your organs?

well in the program its actually 3d and you can travel through my body and look at certain organs or anything for that matter from any angle, looking for the evil cancer.

I guess 10 years ago my friend had cancer and had to go thru chemo. Smoked dope and didnt lose a pound. He was sitting up in bed one night smoking it up and the nurse came in and took a hit. Worked wonders for him.
