Looks like alot of people switching to carbs. So lets find out who has the fastest 3rdgen that is still equip't with some sort of FI.

I'll go first, 12.2 @ 105 Factory 5.7L w/ stock TPI, w/ N2o

 

How about fastest 3rd gen, with FI, that will still pass CA smog?

 

Don't know if I qualify, but I am using fuel injection. Best of a 9.94@ 137 with a couple more tenths left in weight and traction.

 

I'll go for that one! Now that's a great challenge.

There's definitely a different class between a stripped down FI 3rdgen and a fully loaded one still.

How about the best gas mileage for an FI car? I would certainly lose that one. With the new rear end in Atlanta traffic I am getting 15 MPG and still doing 16 second quarter miles (I think).

 

Geez, with the same rear in the 87 and 89 I was getting around 22-25 with the LB9's.

 

With 3:42 im getting 27mpg OH YEAH

Last time it was smogged was '06. Flying colors at a Test Only of course.
I've got a CARB # on everything required sir.

I won't incriminate myself with any more details, but a few minor adjustments and I could pass visual/sniffer just fine.

Not a concern anymore however.

I came to the realization long ago that if I wanted to keep most of the factory equipment/luxury options, I was going to have to sacrifice some speed.
Too tough to keep up with all the stripped down cars being built for the track, but I know there are plenty of others on here with fully loaded rides as well.

 

so my 14.7, and pass smog still wins? yay!

 

SOrry bro LOL, mine is 12.9. the exhaust is so clean that you can use it as an extra source of oxygen

I am at 12.80, Dyno Don is at 12.63, Vincent is at 12.41, and Allen is at 12.29, and all pass the sniffer. All 350 TPI's, and all motor, too. Who needs a stinkin' carb or a stinkin' LS1?

 

Ok, let's get back on track, not this pass smog BS. I know Joey's(Ramair) will pass the ACTUAL SMOG CHECK. As for the SoCal guys, I have not seen your car so, not sure if they pass. Just because it pass the sniffer doesn't mean it pass smog check. Now back on track.......mine went 11.86 (yeah I know it's slow), but still doing/need tuning......I NEED MORE SEAT TIME!!!!!!!!hahahaha

Who's the guy with the 406 XFI280 cammed car that was making some good numbers? Got to be upwards of 380-400whp. that should be mid 11's in a properly setup car

ok i know im not the fastest tbi i jus wanted to think i was..u suck. LOL my best was a 14.7 with 3.08s and very slopy transmission

 

Mine is due for smog check in November, and Don's is due in February. My current combo passed when it was in Vincent's car last year. And yes it passed the ACTUAL SMOG CHECK as done by a state licensed smog technician. I dont know when the last time Allen had to do the smog check.
