Newbie

Just wanted to say hello, and look forward to hooking up at some future gatherings with all you 3rd Gens. Years ago I was involved with the So-Cal 3rd Gens when I lived in Valencia then OC. I moved to Camino a few years ago and now finally getting back into the Camaro.

I built my Iroc many years ago and unfortunately have not driven it "or registered it" since 2001. The car at one time was actually fairly fast, now it has all the gremlins from sitting so long.

The main reason I moved to Nor Cal was space, I built a garage dedicated to all my motorized toys with a hoist as laying on the ground to work on the car got old!

The car is an '89 Iroc 383, Performer RPM heads, SR, nitrous, T-56 with a 6-point cage.

Glad to see a Nor Cal group. Dan.

Re: Newbie

Yep, red '89 Iroc. SC3GFB. Now I have to get off my @%& and get this thing running again so I can thrash it on the track and hang with some 3rd gens.

Re: Newbie

The Chevelle is an L-78 396 with a Richmond 5-speed 12-bolt 3.55. I bought the car when I was 16 and sold it once I got married in '89. In 2006 I bought it back from the same guy 17-years later. It has 90K original miles but needs a resto.

The Camaro I bought last year from the original owner (old lady) from Anahiem, CA. It's a 350/350 10-bolt, not sure what to do with it...

Re: Newbie

Welcome back Dan !!!! I have wondered where you had dissapeared to, last I knew you were way down south and into riding dirt bikes or quads? I'll never forget your story about the clean green machine or something similar getting out of a ticket... It is a small world, I still have my Camaro, have a 69' Camaro , unfortunately, I sold my 68' Chevelle SS 396 just a couple years back....

Post up more photos ! Looks like you have a very nice garage/ shop !
Hope all is going well for you and the family ! You had a few kids right?

Re: Newbie

Very nice collection of rides, and a clean place to work on and store them all. I hope to be in a similar situation in about 10 years. Thanks for the inspiration!

Re: Newbie

Jason, unreal memory.

Living in the mountains has been great, room, space, great roads for the sportbike and the wifes WXR. Just need to get the Iroc running again, I got so burnt out building it back when we were hooked up with Chevy High then Car Craft I just lost interest. At least I didn't sell it!

To bad about the '68...

Hope Nor Cal has a get together in the future, I'll be happy to host a gathering at my place. Free hoist time and wrenching.

I have a spot in the shop for a dyno, waiting for funds... The wife may stop that one!

Re: Newbie

Welcome back. We're looking to buy a house after winter with some land so I can build a shop too. Nothing beats being able to work comfortably on your cars. Where are you located?

The ET is still the same from April 2001, but the dyno is from Feb 2008. No new ET's yet with this combo. Trick Flow heads, Lunati 226/234 camshaft, siamesed runners, etc.

Yes dad still has his shop. You can find him on here as Dyno Don. He's making his own 1 3/4" headers since SLP stopped making them.

I got married in Nov 2006.
