lol that would be good marc. Your chevy powered anyway so I think you could race anyway, well as far as I know.
Looks like fun, but I'm unavailable that day and I guess they don't want to see Pontiacs vs Fords anyways, heh.

Thanks guys. I also think if it's chevy powered it is ok.
Hopefully we can bring home some cash for the kid to spend on his car!

Chevy powered, I'll be there. I have a buddy that is even more confused than I am. He's got a 91 Mustang 5.0, w/ a small block chevy in it, so hes thinking of running both lanes. Since I refilled his bottle, and lent him a back up bottle, if he poses a threat I'll complain. haha

Wish I could make it, the new engine isn't broken in yet. Will there be more towards the end of the summer, or in the fall?

Break in means the builder is making his warranty shorter, if its built right, run it. Originally Posted by STEWARDORNG

My engine doesn't have 100 miles on it, and we're hammering this thing.
(hence its built right) just my opinion.
The key is cromoly rings they break in right away, where cast rings take much longer and you have to be careful.

when you built your motor you knew it was being built to be in a drag only car correct?Originally Posted by 3rdBird

i dont know if norcalz28 car is a drag car only or a street/strip car. but ive always broken in engines slowly and have never blown one. you know by 500 miles if its going to be good or not.
i know some people say take it and give it hell and you'll find out too. It's an opinion, but I also think drag/performance engines are built a little bit looser and dont generate the heat that a normal/mild performance motor creates during the first startup and beyond

I built it. Everyone's entitled to do what they wanna do with their car. I've never run an engine hard before a few hundred miles, and never had a problem, so I'll stick with that.Originally Posted by 3rdBird

Well, ran 2 back to back 10.33's.
First one was 10.33 @ 137, 2nd was 10.34. The 3rd pass, I guess the bottle was running out, so it ran a 11.11 @ 120.
Switched out bottles & dialed 10.40, and ran a 10.50, but I slept on the light.
oh well, I had a good time, a couple friends came out & the entire family came out wearing ROCKLIN AUTOMOTIVE shirts, so thats cool!

Marc good to meet you and see the car run, looked like you were sliping early on the run that I saw?
Looks like the car can still run much faster.
