Windshield

I had to replace my windshield on my 83' Z28. replaced it in March, pretty happy with it. 10am Sunday morning Walter and I wanted to give it a quick rinse, I heard a "CLINK". We got into the car and their is now a crack going from the bottom all the way up to the top right down the center. The glass company say's I washed it when it was hot out. It wasn't that hot, 10am. SO they are replacing it at 11am Tuesday. Depending on how they take care of this depends on if I plaster their name everywhere on-line (if it wasn't my bad)
My question: Are they full of crap, or did I screw up?

Re: Windshield

If it wasn't cracked when they installed it, its not their fault.

Re: Windshield

sounds like you screwed up.
hot windshield plus cold water..

even if you think it wasnt that hot, the water was cold enough..

and remember, aftermarket glass is usually thinner then factory glass so it would be even more prone to cracking..

Re: Windshield

So out of curiosity when do you guys was your car? I know I probably screwed up but damn, I have NEVER had that problem with any car I have owned. I don't know, with a hight that day of 98 and it was 10am. I'll just be more careful, If wddavis want's a clean car, I will insist that he washes hit Trans Am. Not going to go through that again with my baby.
