"wont turn on" is too broad of a statement for anyone to help you

Re: need help with my 92 camaro Rs

is the car cranking but not starting? or is it not even cranking? if it isnt cranking. and the battery and starter tested good, you need to check if your getting power to the starter. our cars have a Vehicle anti theft system. The lil black pellet in your key, it is possible that system known as VATS has failed. Thier is only so much we can tell you over a forum. But IMO your best bet is taking it to an auto shop and they can have you going in no time.

Re: need help with my 92 camaro Rs

I had this exact same problem in my 89 Camaro, I drove it to the store and came back out and blam! The car didn't start, it would turn on the radio, lights etc when I turned the key over but no turning over the engine. Took it to the garrage and they said it was my ignition, I belive they said my ignition coil pretty much fell apart when they took my ignition apart. So I would have them test your ignition system, it's probably your ignition coil inside your steering column.

Its very possible. look into it. I would tell you how to start the car by bypassing that but you have to ground two wires together and I dont want you to do the wrong one's and burn something up.

No repair bill but it was def something in my ignition system, inside my steering column! I remember because I had to take it back because he didnt tighten my turn signal screw down enough and my highs got stuck on lol

Re: need help with my 92 camaro Rs

I was coming back from the beach one year never had a problem with my car not starting. We stopped at a store and when I came back out the car would not turnover. I had to get it towed almost 200 miles home. I didn't have time to work on it for a few weeks. I would go outside and turn the switch to see if if would work nothing. The day I went out to see if I could fix it I told my brother one last time we will see if it will start BAM it started! I drove the car for a good year then I replaced the switch because it broke. It was the wire that goes to the anti-theft was pinched. I didn't find that out until the switch broke and I had to replace it.

well they sell VATS bypass modules and stuff. But my car was almost stolen and VATS saved it. Amateur thieves though.

One thing we should all carry in our 3rd Gen tool kit is a basic Test Meter with extra long lead addapters that can be easily picked up at any Radio Shack.
