When should we start organizing the Third Annual Memorial Day Gathering?
Josh is hosting an f-body gathering in Iowa sometime in mid-June and he has already done a lot of organizing. Denny's party will be sooner and we don't have much yet. I don't know about you guys, but I really wanna make this one big. We will need a website and we can put all the information on there, similar to what Josh has done here
I can make a simple webpage, but I need some help. We should find some hotels in the area in case people need to stay. Also, some kind of email form would be helpful as well (similar to the one he has) but I don't know how to make that. If anyone has pictures of the 2003 Gathering, e-mail me those and we can put those up too.
Should we get a domain? Josh found 1and1.com which is really cheap. I don't know anything about uploading to or even getting a domain and whats envolved so I'm hoping someone here does and can tell me if thats a good deal and if we should bother.
Does anyone else have any ideas? Once we get this more set up, I will talk to the admins and we will have a separate board, similar to the Thirdgen Nationals board, so then we will have even more exposure.
Throw in some ideas and feel free to help in any way you can, if possible. I think this can really be big.

Yeah Bill was the first guy I thought of too. I'd be willing to make a simple webpage if he wants to help me with getting a domain and stuff. Hopefully I won't spend a ton of time helping organize this and not be able to go, like I did last year with the caravan
The cost was only a few dollars I think, so thats no big deal. I just need to know how to go about it.
Anyone have any other suggestions?

we need a cool flyer type thing as well. Aubbubcaba or whatever his name made one for the nationals and it looked sweet. Other than that.....we definately need some exposure to make this thing big. HUGE i mean ....so big we need our own zip code HUGE

Thanks for the vote of confidence but I really know very little about HTML coding. I can do photoshop signatures easily enough. But a flyer is something that usually takes me some though. Abubaca did a great job on the flyer for the '04 Nationals. We could also consider asking DevianB for help, he does good stuff too.
Last year it was huge, and that was just with the forum stuff. Considering that we usually only get between 50% and 75% of the people who sign up to show up.
All I know is that I will have a 128meg memory card on hand with my camera. EVERYONES car is going to get a picture. As well as some high res photos of the entire group.
Hey, maybe some guy in a Mercury Couger will stop bye again and do a Nuetral drop?

In the last week I have emailed, Pm'ed and called Denny(LFN AT U), still awaiting response for just that reason(and i need a few parts)
Waiting on him to give it the official nod and time etc and post so we can have a sticky, one for info and one for signing up, so we can get a half rough estimate of total number of attendees
thanks and later
Jeremy
PS Denny u see this call me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I will probably just make a pdf flyer. I assume we want one to put on thirdgens we see out and about.
We could also have it available online somewhere so others can download and print it to pass on.

I can make a pretty basic webpage no problem. I just don't know how to go about uploading it all and doing that stuff if it had its own domain.
And yeah, a flyer sounds good. Then when we see thirdgens in parking lots, we can put one on their window and maybe they'll show up too.

Actually, I've got somebody working on a webpage for it already. (At least I think he is.) I already own the domain name www.thirdgenranch.com so that's where it will be. I was going to work on some kind of fliers as well to include with my eBay packages. I ship between 50 and 100 packages a week so that ought to REALLY get the word out. (Maybe too much!!!) I'll handle all the party stuff but it would be good if somebody was able to get motel info. We also need to find out about the track days soon. I think we should probably get the message board up and running by the end of the month with all the information. I'm confident this WILL be the biggest thirdgen event of the year...maybe ever!!!

Awesome, that saves me a lot of time.
When the website is up and you have some finalized info, let me know and I'll get that board going for ya.
Any idea how long til the site will be up? If you need any help, let me know and I'll do what I can.
I've been talking to some people and they've asked if its only a one day event or if it will be two days by any chance? Cause some people are may be coming from far, and they may not want to come all this way for just one day, ya know?
