Got the IROC running!

Well me and Jeff got the IROC running today (thanks jeff for the battery) and finished switching the cat from the white ROC to the Maroon IROC so I can pass emissions. Once I pass, the cat is coming off and the L98 is going in!! I cant wait!! I will keep ya all updated on the progress. That is if it is not freezing out, I really need a heater!

Did not pass emissions. I did Much better though, i guess having a cat on your car can do that. LOL Well anyways the 350 is going in anyways, it most likey runs better than the high mileage 305 I get in there now. Well I will contine you to keep you up dated. Oh BTW any one got any advise on passing emissions or anything to have you car run better for the sake of passing. Well the new cat helped out a ton, not enough though, oh and 4 bottles of Heat did not hurt either.

If the exhaust doesn't come out past the rear bumper, tighten up the hangers so it is actually hidden up under the bumper a little bit.

Worked for me. I passed better then brand new with an exhaust leak at the cat, decent converter, and no AIR pump.

Once you put the L98 in, I might be able to help you with a computer tune if you want. I just got a setup to do custom PROMs, all you'd need is a $35 adapter from Craig Moates and I could at least rough it in for ya. Oak Lawn is pretty close.

I'd offer to do it now, but I have no experience with MAF tuning and I'm still cutting my teeth with SD on my car.

What would tightening up the exhaust do? I am kinda confused. Also that would be awsome if you would want to help tune my car! I am keeping the MAF instead of going to Speed Density because I dont have the Computer or wiring harness for the SD. So when I get it in i will let you know. Thanks alot.:hail:

if you need an adapter, i've got one for a 165 MAF prom with the "easy to take the damn chip out" socket...forget what it's really called, $20 and it's yours, never used

He's talkin about a ZIF socket that plugs into your ecm and you plug your prom chip into it and can remove and replace your chip much more easily than without the adaptor. When you planning on getting that L98 in Kev?

I already have the engine in my garage Jim! Now I just have to pass emissions before I put it in. And since the engine is coming out I am looking for a tranny now because mine is really up there in miles.

Nice! I'll be back home the weekend of the 13th so I'll have to come check it out and see how that emissions crap is going for you. I had some trouble passing emissions too. 3rd try was a charm for me.

Oh course I will be!! I was out a lot the last 2 summers though too. We are mostly in Orland in where ever the meeting place decides to change to, but we end up showing up everywhere else too, like we are at Frosted Mug every Tuesday night, in Lemont at the Lemon tree and there downtown cruise night, out in Joliet as much as we can for the car show (Wednesdays if I can recall), I am trying to think where else we cruise around at, Everywhere I guess. Last summer I had the Maroon Camaro out there as much as I could, with Jeff and some various other people from the board and other friends. Two summers ago me and Jeff were out there all the time! just I did not have a car then, Jeff had his TA though. This year though we need to hang out in your neck of the woods more often though. We did meet up with you guys at that McDonalds in Bloomingdale, and Dennys of course! Once I get this job that I am hopefully gonna be getting, I will be getting a tranny and its all going in and I will be out and about more often and I will be the a little quicker too.
