Problems at the strip
Yeah just lookin for sombody to help me out here i had my car out at the grove on friday and really i wasent impressed with my times
the car an 89 formula with a 350 vortec heads and lt4 cam its backed up by a t5 and 3.45 gears and the best i could muster was a 14.450 at 96.93
The only reason it bothers me is because ive raced new ss camaros on the street and kept up very well but the track numbers arent there

What's your reaction time?
What's your 60' time?
Are you using overdrive?
What are your shift points?

Maybe just a bit, but if it were me, I'd be concerned with bringing down that 60' time. What kinda stickys you have out back? I've seen superior results from Goodrich Comp Drag Radials (highly recommended).

Once you get some tacky rubber on yhe back, you'll know for sure if the clutch is slipping. A real good gear & tire combo for our cars (in slightly modified form) is a 3:73 rear gear with a 26" tall tire. This will lower your 60 ft. times, but may cause your eng. to rev beyond it's peak power at the end of the strip. This is where tire size & gear ratio formulas come in. They will help you figure out the exact combo you need. I recommend going to a bookstore to find a book by John Lawlor called Auto Math handbook. This is a VERY INFORMATIVE book that can help anyone achieve their goals.
I wish I would have purchased tis book YEARS ago!!

I was pulling a 101mph with my old setup on my Formula. Vortecs, hotcam converter (auto) with similiar 60ft times
What tune are you running?
Highly suggest you look into that and find a lot of untapped potential. I was running the above blowing the dipstick tube out on the motor :-)
