An update from me
Hey guys,
Since it was a nice 65* day today and I was off work, I thought I'd wash the car real quick since it was dusty (even though its not going anywhere with no insurance). Well, one thing led to another and I wound up spending about 4 hours "washing the car real quick". I decided to use my clay bar fot the first time since I heard such good things about it. I am quite pleased with the results, the paint feels so smooth now. Here are some of the pics, more on page 10 of my cardomain page. Hopefully I'll have my own domain soon so I'll be able to post the high res ones then
For the winter, I currently have no plans yet. The engine is beginning to knock, so I would like to buy a block and build another one and then swap it in next spring. But, after I graduate from my Volvo training, theres a decent chance I may have to move to the east coast for a job. If I did, the car would more than likely stay at home for a year or two. If I can get into a dealership around here, I would like to buy a house or condo within the next 12-18 months, so I would obviously need money for that. So I'm pretty undecided as of right now. I will probably just do some small stuff, replace the headliner and some interior pieces, maybe finally finish polishing/painting the rims, and possibly get into PROM burning/tuning.
So theres my latest update, comments and criticisms are welcome

If I remember correctly, a while ago you mentioned you were going to be going to UTI... are you there yet? If so, how do you like it. 5 weeks left for me

Just remember that your paint is essentially "raw" with no wax after using a clay bar. You might end up "waxing the car real quick"!!!

andy,
you're still alive huh?
car looks good. i know about your feeling that you have no money for car mods. i'm with you there. at least i just got a sweet 4 bolt main block 350 for my winter build-up that's coming. gonna have to build a Th350 trans too. so i'll be selling off that 700R4 that i put work into now. i'm always replacing something on that car it seems.

I washed mine on Saturday morning then decided to drive 380 miles to my sisses place in St. Paul. I then drove an additional 380 to come home today. Just to blow the cobwebb's out one last time for the year. Top speed achieved this time 128mph at an undisclosed patch of interstate.

Not really.. it was pathetic.
There's a post about it on the Tech board. Numbers were 212 HP and 246 TQ or something like that. But it was running like 10.5:1 at WOT. The whole story is in a thread posted probably 4-6 weeks ago in the tech board if you want more detail.

Yeah, I suspect I need a new PROM to lean out the injectors at higher RPMs. Len offered to help, but I've been busy as hell lately and haven't had the chance to pull the old one out (Sorry Len, I know I haven't gotten back to you in awhile!)
I considered buying some PROM tuning equipment, but with the knock, I really would like to build something else or at least rebuild this, I'm not sure.
And I had to go top off the tank before storage, so I stopped for some pics on the way back

Hey Andy is that true that you are saposed to top off your tank before storage? JW because I have heard that is true, but I was not sure if it was one of those old wives tales.
Oh and the IROC looks AWESOME!!!!

I top it off so theres less room on the sides of the tank for any moisture to condense and get in the fuel.
Thanks for the compliment
