Acetone testers wanted inside
I need a couple volunteers to test acetone as an additive to their gas for a couple of mths.
It is said to boost mileage and I am also talking in amounts that equate to roughly 1-2 ounces per 10 gallon.
I just need a few people who have depednable routes. For example you have a work car or the like that does the same routine week in and week out so we have a vaild comparison and also someone who already tracks their mileage would be a plus so we can actually verify the results.
If you search for acetone here, they are a few good posts and links to be had. The theory basically involves lessening the surface tension of gasoline. Now I only need to to to Farm and Fleet tog et my own 5 gallon jug for my own testing.

I guess I can try, my pathfinder basically see's the same way to and from work, the general daily driver. I just did my mileage the other day and its getting a shade under 16mpg with 31's and me driving like a race car half the time

I have the exact same route every week.
Monday go to school and come home 22 miles total
Tuesday go to work 1 mile total
Wednesday go to school 22miles
Thursday work, bank, and grocery shopping 20 miles
Friday thru sunday School and then to Purdue lafeyette 160 miles
Total of 225 miles a week and it use to cost me about 45 bux when gas was at 2.50
Which makes it 18 MPG for my sierra that has a 305 with a 5spd
Let me know what I need to do to help your study out.

Caught that typo AJ thanks lol
Yeah that would get brutal lol
Have heard pro and con from people, with more people getting a slight improvement than not. And confirmed thru mileage notes and keeping all the mileage and quantities and gallons straight.
Something I was thinking of trying, just useless unless people keep track of the exact mileage and gass added and acetone used.

I'd love to try it, but with a 2004 Vibe with only 36K miles on it, I'd be affraid to F*CK something up.
I would try it with my '83 C10 since I don't give 2 ****s about that engine, but I think it'd be pretty pointless since I only get ~5 mpg as it is.
And since my speedo is off by ~15 mph that wouldn't help either.
