Sopposively, every site they've been on have been removed and GM had directly contacted them about the issue, so I decided to spare this site the crap and just take it out of the post. Check out Z28.com about how GM contacted them

Hmmmmm.

Those interior concepts are highly dubious. Same style/format as the other million supposed camaro/firebird interior "spy" shots or designs already released.

lol If it was a leak dont u think GM would keep quiet? Or would it publicly(prolly privately but u know it would go public) ask bulletin boards to take the photos doen? lol

As far as the car itself? I'm not that impressed, square the frt and the rear out and can u say Mustang? They killed it and brought it back only to remake a remake of someone elses original?

Its okay looking, nothing there is new in any way shape or form and it doesnt really set itself from the competition. Course it is still in the 50/50 prototype stage (might be RS/SS version or something).

Hope someone is wise enough to ditch the IRS for a 8.5 10 bolt, shove in a LS2 and make it available for 20-25k$.

Kinda funny listening to people whine about it being cancelled. If you read between the lines and kept up on GM everywhere in the world, you would know that there are multiple platforms in the works that could easily support a Camaro variant(firebird is more than likley permently gone, they got the GTO). Zeta was never wholey killed. Just shelved and revised and yadda yadda. Just looking at chasis pics of the two pretty much confirms if it wasnt the "original" it is a kissin cousing of the design.

Course I did right click and save as :-)

Yeah, I seen those pic's yesterday. Saved them right away. It's funny how there are some Fbody forums that are making these photo's to be such a big deal that they're BANNING anybody who posts them or provides anyone with a link to view them. It's just a car for crying out loud. Not a matter of national security

Meanwhile, other sites like the one in the link posts them for all to see like it's no big deal

I must say though, I'm very surprised at just how "retro" it is. I'm not against retro in any way mind you, just that I didn't think it would be THAT retro

If GM has the ***** to build that thing the way it is those pic's, I'd buy one in a second (If I win the lotto that is.)

Only thing I might change is the back end a bit.

I'd give the overall design a 9.5

this thing looks like a combo of the charger and mustang. there is really nothing there that reminds me it is a camaro. I would buy a gto before I would buy that. throw that one in the trash

lol "Retro" is in right now, so I expected nothing less.

Mustang sells well, but its made for v6 buyers and woman, its not a slam, its the simple truth lol Like 70% of Mustangt buyers are female and something assinine like 70% of the cars are 6 cyl.

The Cam/Bird were like 80% male, 80% V8 and the other 20% were woman and v6's lol

Either way, GM has the best trans' and engines in the world, pretty much bar none. If they only built fun affordable cars that people wanted.

actually, in the 3rdgen years, 60-65% of all fbody buyers were women....

thats the entire reason for the redesigned front suspension on the 4thgen... softer ride, and stuff for their target audiance.... women that want a sporty car. lol.

I dont like it either looks like a mustang. I think if they want sumthing that looks like the 69 camaro wich is what I think they were attempting they should pull out the old sheetmetal just the way it was and upgrade suspension six speed tranny and the LS2 with a price tag competitive with the rustang. Whos with me on this?

That would KILL!!!! If there was a "new" 69 camaro with upgraded suspension and a sweet drive train, I gaurantee that it would sell like crazy!!!!

Why can't they just listen to us?

I agree, those pictures are pretty damn ugly.

It will probably look just like the new rustang, but wait, the new stang can't rust, it is ALL Plastic!!!!

Right now, I honestly could care less what they want/think it is going to look like..... I am just extatic that the Camaro revival is becoming a reality. When that dies down a bit in a month, I will start to care about pics.

I think all retro cars suck but if I had to make a retro Camaro, I'd base it on an early second gen. Am I the only one who thinks first gen styling is boring?

I believe Year One and Chip Foose have gotten together to sell replica 69s available with an LS2- probably insanely expensive, though.

They could be legit. They're in the same style as many other GM prototype plans. (Have you ever seen mid-70's thirdgen prototypes?) If they are the real deal, it's VERY unlikely that they were accidently released. Having worked in the auto industry, I know how many steps are involved in getting information like this available. More than likely, they would have been released intentionally to create some interest.

Of course, the final car would only vaguely resemble these pictures. Overall, it's pretty close to what I expected a fifthgen car would be. I think a retro firstgen is a great idea. I agree with Jeremy though, they definitely need to dump the IRS and go with a solid axle. The closer the car is to a Corvette, the less of them they'll sell. Part of the problem with the Camaros and Firebird is that GM got too far away from what made these cars what they are. They need to worry less about making sure every little thing has the right "look and feel" and focus more on making it a raw muscle car. The thirdgen Camaros still had pretty raw interiors but even the later thirdgen Firebirds started to get pretty touchy feely inside. The fourthgen cars were total chick cars.

If they built a good looking car with great performance and match it with a simple interior with nice seats they could keep the price down and have a real winner. Of course, this is GM and they'll probably blow it.

C'mon guys, there is allways hope. Just stick with GM a little longer and I am sure they will preform. I am a redsox diehard fan, so I know all about sticking with something till it finally achieves its goal. Keep the hopes up and tust them, Thats all we can really do. All I know is that I am way to hard a GM fan to think the new camaro would ever suck. I have had more fun with my camaro than most other toys. I thank GM and can't wait to see what they put out.

Thanks for the community shots.

Totally agree, UGLY AS SIN. Not a big fan of the retro sh#t, especially when they smooth it down so much--like watering down soup, and squash the front end nose.

--the charger is sweet, except the front end looks squashed, everything else is kickass.

just me opinion.

screw retro.period........you want a old looking car buy one..ford was on the right track with the 03 stangs then they retro'd it.arghhhhhhhhhh
anyways this kinda typlifies how gms planning and stragedy comes back to haunt them down the road..too conservative, too late, never changing to suit the market.
ok fine a retro 09,,retro over by 09,as usual gm will be late
and i agree with the earlier post, who really gets wood for the 1st gen styling anyways..ask me its a boring shape...but oh well..i wont buy one

WOW are you seriouse!!!!???!!!???

"who really gets wood for the 1st gen styling "

Maybe not wood.

But TONS AND TONS OF PEOPLE love, absolutly LOVE those lines. I mean LOVE. Even random people that don't like cars, (my mom) saw one and she could stop talking about how beutiful the 69 we just drove by was. Then I told her it was a Camaro.

And that is from a person who has no idea. Car guys everywhere can say without hesitation that it is BY FAR one of the top 5 best muscle cars ever built. and will ever be built.

Thats also why companies have so many aftermarket parts that you can now buy 100% new 69 vert bodies for 10,000. And they are selling well too.

BEST muscle car there will ever be, 1969 Camaro Z/28.

Only thing looks better than a 69 Z would have to be a 91-92 Z29 or TA convertible with the top down :-)

They look damned fine.

Car doesnt have nought true 69 in it to classify as retro. Looks like they just went for general shape and lines vs. paying homage to it

because they go off what is selling, what is the current trend in looks. the problem is although most of us and many others would love to buy a real retro looking camaro or what ever the target is in who will run out and buy it right away. (not if I can get a loan or whatever)

they do tons of market testing to come to these off scale looks that with all there test and research shows will sell the best.

and what it often comes down to is a good amount of women buy the new cars or in other cases get the new car when a couple buy one and so on..... and they desighn them with this target market in mind. (I think it was stated befor but, look at the mustang, our cars and so on) not to mention the majority of women in collage out weight the men (plus the even more distrubing fact that these colledge women and making more then men now!) seems like a good sales target to me

now if you really want to be surprised just wait when it does come out. if these are GM's plans the finished one will look very differant. I can't think of a proto type or concept car made by GM, Ford or the Mopar guys that looks much if anything like there offically released pictures or already made car (well maybe the shape but thats it)

no way,it will never sell big.granted the mustang is but they hit the market at the right time.that camaro has a 09 release date, thats still 3 years away.retro craze over by then, and even if it wasnt the demand for 2 door cars with a trunk aint selling to well, with the exception of the mustang.most folk think twice before spending 30 k on a 2 door car thats not practical for their daily lives.second sure but then most folk wont spend 30 k just to drive a second and if they do they would spend 30k on a real 69 .look at the gto, bigggggggggggg buster......wicked power and old name but it only offers 2 doors and a trunk.thats why all the suvs and crossovers are going wild because they fit folks lives.look at the magnum, its populr because it is clos tto a suv or a wagon vs a camaro, heck the 300 is just a 4 door but it has 4 doors vs the 2.i never thought id see the day when 4 doors were more popular but they are.heck when i learned to drive you wouldnt be caught dead ina 4 dr.now its the opposite.
